Sheikh Mandi is the best place for mandi chicken, beef and goat! They also have an array of kebabs and shish taouk. Delicious meets which are grilled and smoked with a special spice blend inspired by both Iraqi and Yemeni spice blends, their meat falls off the bone and I’d an essential accompaniment to the rice. Their rice cannot be compared to any competing mandi restaurants as it is flavourful, colourful and not dry but also not oily. The garnish on the rice is what best differentiates sheikh mandi’s rice with a generous helping of nuts and raisins. All the OG rice ‘conniseurs’ will know this place in Ottawa, but anyone interested in tasting this genre of rice with meat (that is unlike bryani but equivalent to it in the Middle East) should definitely give this restaurant a try. The atmosphere (though not eat in) is Bedouin and Turkish inspired in its decor and waiting area. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Read moreLamb mandi from Sheikh Al Mandi is one of the best meals you can ever eat in Ottawa. The lamb is so tender that it falls off the bone, and the rice is cooked with an exquisite combination of spices that renders the whole dish mouth watering and rich in flavors.

They're often busy so mistakes are bound to happen, and I experienced it twice so far ... the first time they had taken down the wrong order, so when I arrived I had to wait much longer ... and the second time it was Uber Eats, and they sent me the wrong drinks.
Anyway ... the food is amazing so it's definitely worth adding it...

My son picked up the order and it was not Mandi, it was Kabsa. We were very disappointed as everyone was expecting and excited to try their Mandi.
I tried calling that evening but no one answered the phone. I called the next day to complain. The first person who answered flatly told me they didn't serve any Kabsa the day before. When I told her I have the receipt to prove it, she then handed the phone to the person I originally made the order with.
The 2nd person tried to tell me that I ordered Kabsa. Unbelievable. We paid over $250 for a disappointing meal. There will not be a next time.
I'm giving it 2 stars because the food was ready on time and well packaged. But I'm disappointed in...
