Here are several especially negative experiences related to Subway in March 2025, with a focus on online ordering mess-ups, staff indifference, and poor customer service:
🚩 1. Ingredients or entire order mixed up
On March 19, 2025, a Reddit user described ordering sandwiches online only to receive toppings from different orders and extras they didn’t ask for. When they complained, they received just a “generic response” from corporate that showed little concern:
“Placed an online order for some sandwiches. Came home and my order was way off…Tired coming home from work so i filed a complaint and got this generic response. They dont even care man.” reddit.com+11ca.trustpilot.com+11reddit.com+11reddit.com
🚩 2. Staff actively blocking online orders
On March 27, 2025, another Reddit user revealed that certain Subway locations were marking items as “out of stock” specifically to prevent online ordering and coupon redemption:
“If you try to order anything, it will say they're out of stock…they put those items as out of stock so people can't order online anymore.” reddit.com
This sounds like a deliberate attempt to discourage online ordering—not a one-off issue.
🚩 3. Delivery apps redirect blame in a loop
On March 16, 2025, a user reported that their wrong order via the Subway mobile app was delivered, and neither Subway nor DoorDash would take responsibility, leaving them stuck:
“Subway and Doordash refuse to refund…the local restaurant said refund through Doordash. Doordash said call Subway. Subway corporate sent me back to the local franchise.” reddit.com
This “passing the buck” circle is infuriating.
📉 Macro-level complaints & patterns
A June 2025 Trustpilot user summarized the broader issue well:
“Online order pickup at subways … 90‑95 % bad reviews … Due to … lack of corporate accountability … = bad customer service, and quality of food issues.” reddit.comreddit.com+15ca.trustpilot.com+15au.trustpilot.com+15
Negative online-order experiences are clearly not isolated; they’re systemic.

✅ Tips if you still want to order:
Inspect your order before leaving. Many recommend double-checking your sandwich on site. reddit.comreddit.com+2reddit.com+2reddit.com+2allrecipes.com+1reddit.com+1wanderlog.com+3ca.trustpilot.com+3au.trustpilot.com+3
Consider ordering in-person, or watch your sandwich being made.
Use apps with caution, especially with coupons—items may show as unavailable or be wrong.
🧩 In your case:
You ordered online, got something completely different, and staff refused to help or understand your issue.
This aligns directly with many documented March 2025 experiences: mixed-up orders, blame circles, and rude or unhelpful staff.
Unfortunately, your experience isn’t unique—it mirrors a broader, serious pattern.
Do you want help drafting a formal complaint or finding alternative sandwich places?

Very Disappointed – Horrible Experience with Online Order (June 28, 2025)
I had a very bad experience today with the Subway located in [insert exact location if you'd like]. I placed an order online expecting the usual service and quality, but what I received was completely different from what I ordered.
When I went...

I will never eat here again and encourage everyone reading this to avoid it as well.
After eating here for the first time in years I got food poisoning a few hours afterwards. More details below.
Back around 2010-2015 I would frequent this location and had never been disappointed, I must have went to it at least a few dozen times during that time period.
The last afternoon I developed a subway craving and decided to visit this location. As soon as I entered it seemed to have come under completely new management since 2015 or so. I didn’t think much of it but should have listened to my gut and just left.
Service was slow as mentioned by other reviews and the server seemed quite slow and generally incompetent. It took her around a whole minute to put 4 slices of cheese on the sandwich and when she applied the sauces there was literally half a cup in one glob on one side, she just stared at me aimlessly until I told her to spread the sauce. Perhaps she was under training but the above just screams incompetence - it’s making a sandwich at the end of the day, a 10 year old could do it.
Anyways I had the sandwich, it was alright, the cold cuts might have seemed a bit on the old side but it tasted 95% standard subway so I enjoyed it.
Fast forward 3 hours and I’m feeling nauseous and throwing up worse than I had in years.
I woke up the next morning feeling sick. Posting this at 5am so I might update depending on how I feel on the following days, but regardless this location should be avoided.

Read moreVery disgusted and disappointed with the manager and assistant manager. I had a situation this afternoon where my Apple Pay was declined by their machine and had to use another card. I checked my account afterwards and found that the charge actually did go through. So I went back up and started to explain that the charge did go through on my account even though it was declined and I used another card. The manager would not allow me to explain that I used another account. He told me to calm down and to stop talking so he could look at my receipts but had no knowledge as to what he was looking at. Told him to not to tell me to be quiet or to calm down, as I’m trying to explain what was going on. Then the assistant manager decides to chime in and start telling me that I need to calm down and stop yelling and he doesn’t like how I’m talking to the manager. I explained I do not like how I’m being spoken too. Even the cashier was trying to help and explain it was 2 different accounts. Finally the manager stopped and listened. He then understood and I got a refund. Never in my life have I ever felt being talked down to and dismissed with what I was saying. Telling me I was wrong when he wouldn’t listen in the first place. I will never go there again for how poorly the manager and assistant manager treated me this...
