My family arrived at 1:50pm on a Saturday for lunch and were told that we would have to pay the dinner price of $35 per person. Their menu had 2:30pm written down as the start of dinner pricing but we were told 1:30pm is last call for ordering at the lunch price. We were also told that a 15% tip would automatically be added to our bill because we were a family of 5. I have eaten at hundreds of restaurants and have never been told that a tip would automatically be entered for a table of 5. I would usually tip more than 15% at a restaurant but the service at Sushi Kan was terrible.
Order a pick up on saturday for a friend gathering
Ordered the party mix tray 68 pcs and 3 temaki and asked for extra ginger with my order Paid around 100 buck for the order Timing needed 20 minutes which is fair Paid by cash to benefit from the 10% discount on invoice
Order was picked up around 6:30pm with 3 soya and 2 ginger and 3 chopsticks I was like its fine im sure they are very busy didnt notice the extra ginger note
We ate the sushi platter and all pieces were not standing still together as if prepared from the morning The sashimi was the only thing that was fresh in this set
Fast forward to today i wanted to complain to them as a loyal customer i really felt disappointed with their service and i felt like its my duty to inform them so they can avoid those type of mistakes
The operator first did not understand the reason for my call then when she understood she was very sarcastic informing me that today is tuesday i informed her that i knew exactly what day we were and seeing her replying like she did not care asked for a manager to my surprise no manager was available so i asked her for a callback
I felt so let down im sure with their customer service they wont keep their customer for long i have expected a better service from them specially we order each week from this branch
Will update the post with any news
*updated The manager did call back the day after She explained that she was not working on that day She asked questions to understand my experience (finallyy) I did inform her that i only wanted to let them know since i was a loyal customer and inwas not expecting anything in return but the manager insisted I did appreciate that the manager cared enough to give a callback even i was not expecting it to happen Will...
Read moreVery disappointed. Found the food of poor quality, inconsistent, and potentially dangerous. A lot of the fish sashimi and and special beef sashimi was still partially frozen and tasted a lot like hard water and the baked mussels were drenched in water as well (this is a dry dish with scorched mayo/cheese). However, the one thing they were very consistent about was giving you less food than you ordered. I kept track of what I ordered and only received either 2/3 or 1/2 of what I ordered. This is incredibly annoying. As a customer, you would expect to receive what you order, you should not have to fight for or pester staff. I don't think it would be fair to call it AYCE if they will not give you everything you order and purposely give you end cuts/improperly sliced sashimi slices to deter you from ordering more. The first round I ordered sashimi, everything was cut very thin depending on the type of fish. I actually liked the way they cut it, it was small easy to eat pieces. The second time I ordered sashimi, I ordered 25 instead of 10 pieces and this must have annoyed the chef since they didn't even try cutting it normally, they just gave me the leftover pieces you should not feed customers. The pieces were thick in the shape of fries and not edible. Service wasn't really friendly. Most servers just came around without saying anything or checking in on you.
Overall, just very disappointing. For $29.99 dinner buffet, you don't get what you pay for. Would be better to order out somewhere a la carte and get higher quality,...
