I hear a lot of talk about service on here. Yes service was good but can we talk about the kitchen? Just to be clear this is not about the service it was great and I feel actually really bad for the servers. The kitchen staff is a mess. Everyone at our table got their plates except mine. I waited for new chicken to be ready and fries. It came out pipping hot which I loved but it did take some time to get while everyone else was eating. The food that came out before mine was stone cold. My daughter got a handful of fries with her chicken burger that looked very dry McDonaldâs chicken burger looked better than hers and it was cold. My Mom got a hot chicken sandwich with garlic beans and it also was so cold you couldnât even partly melt butter on it. She asked for the beans to be heated up and they did so without a problem. As time went on my momâs plate was so cold she asked if it could be heated up in the microwave and thatâs exactly what happened. You canât heat up hot chicken sandwich and fries in the microwave and I felt this was really distasteful since we are paying for this food at a restaurant. Needless to say it came back warm and soggy a hot mess. This is not the first time we have had problems at this establishment. We order from here and bring it home to find every-time the forget the graveyard for poutine. Thatâs happened twice now and we just gave up with it. We thought going in would be different and it wasnât it was only worse. We wonât be coming back here we will go across the bridge to St. Hubert. Hopefully in time they will get it together over there. I have two stars because the server was good. As all 1 year olds can be our son was occasionally loud and disruptive but he was quickly settled down both times. Our server had trouble answering our questions about the Tuesdayâs 2 can dine deal but we ended up ordering something else so it was whatever. Husband ordered the 1/3 rib rack and chicken meal with a side of salad, he requested the dressing on the side but it came to our table with too much dressing on top. After he pointed it out server said itâs not a request that they fulfill anymore? What place doesnât give a little ramekin of dressing along with a salad? After huffing about the salad our server reluctantly went back to the kitchen to bring a salad with dressing on the side. I ordered the loaded perogies but received the plain cheese perogies instead. I want to point out they didnât write our order on a notepad, they didnât write it down at all in fact. We seated our son in the high chair provided and readied to eat our meal when they returned and rudely asked why there was a high chair at the booth. They then lectured us about how we were supposed to be seated at a table if we were using a high chair as if we knew the rules beforehand and just blatantly ignored it. Restaurant was mostly empty and the high chair wasnât blocking any fire exit path. We were done at this point and left without taking a bite of our food. We used our $50 ultimate dining giftcard at Harveyâs on Baseline and that amended our sour experience Swiss Chalet. They were seated next to a door and asked to move as the breeze was making them cold every time the door opened. Their server moved them to a more comfortable table and told them that they will have a different server as this was not her section.
As my grandparents were sitting down at the new table the server of that section ran to them and yelled, you cannot sit there! My grandfather explained that they were moved away from the door, then she very aggressively yelled at them that she already put them in the computer as that table, and they are not allowed to move, and she will not serve them over here. My grandfather pointed to the table they were originally at and said it is to cold there. ââThen the woman SMACKED!!! my grandfathers hand and told another server to get rid of them very loudly!
My grandfather asked to speak to the manager, she lied and said he is not in. Then he asked to speak to the next higher up, she lied and said it was her. Another server came over at this point and said they would serve them instead.
After my grandparents called the restaurant the next day and told the manager what happened, and about how she âHITâ his hand!!! All they were told by the manager is that he would speak to the server and offered them coupons. No serious action was taken! ----PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not dine here! The waitress was disgusting to my grandparents and thinks she is allowed to lay hands on customers!!!!!
