Imagine my chagrin when I was seated down and then left to sit for over 20 minutes on a slow weekday on the earlier side in the evening. No water, no asking if our table wants anything, just abandoned. After about 20 minutes of looking around, confused as to where our waitress was, in a section emptier than our stomachs, she reappeared to drop off our waters, and WORDLESSLY walk away, we waited another 20 minutes sipping on water waiting for her to come back to take our drink orders. After cocktails that had unfortunately been butchered, and empty waters left completely untouched by the server, we were not asked if we had any interest in ordering any food, we had to wait another 30 minutes before our waitress reappeared to ask if we wanted anything to eat. When we did order, we were not asked if we needed refills on any of our drinks, if there was anything else she could get us, etc. in fact there was utter silence. It was awkward. After ordering a rare steak and receiving well done, and having nothing to drink while struggling to swallow my steak, I was left a bit disappointed. I looked forward to getting my bill, but our waitress had disappeared again, we waited for about another 30 minutes with empty plates before another server came and cleared our plates for us. When it was time to pay our waitress handed one of our guests a machine, and then walked away for another ten minutes, there was no explanation, no “I’ll be right back” like most of this service, our waitress was completely silent. Leaving the rest of us confused, and without paying. When she came back she was much quicker. However we were not asked if our party needed machines or if we intended to pay with cash. Which a few of us did. But since she left us with the pin pad we did not want to inconvenience her with change, or have to potentially wait another 15 minutes to receive my change. I typically receive pretty good service here, so I am a little confused on what might’ve gone wrong on such a slow night. Brie seems like a lovely woman, but her service was below par, three of our guests are also servers and were honestly confused on what could’ve possibly gone wrong BOH for this to...
Read moreWe had the team dinner today. Twelve players and their parents were present. Six parents and one kid were at my table. My two kids sat with other players at another table, and the rest of the parents sat at the other three tables.
I ordered a cup of Guinness beer and a seafood medley. My two kids ordered two Fish and chips, and I also ordered a Power Bowl to go. Everything went well until I noticed a fly inside my beer. I told the waitress, and she immediately exchanged it with another cup of beer. I didn't complain about anything. My friend told the waitress the restaurant should offer me a free meal. I actually didn't care about the free meal. I was willing to pay my bill fully. Another friend learned about the fly thing; She was surprised I took that very well. She would feel the fly thing was so gross that she started to clear her fork and knife.
So I thought it would be nice if the restaurant could offer a 5 percent discount to the people at the same table to comfort them. Unfortunately, the restaurant manager told me she could not do it. All she could do was not charge for the cup of beer with the fly inside. It did not convince me the manager considered seriously enough by serving food with a fly to her customers. I didn't mean to punish anybody. A five percent discount on the table (including me and the other five parents) would be about $30. All I wanted was $30 for the restaurant to demonstrate responsibility to customers who were aware of the fly issue. So they can have the confidence to bake the restaurant again. I told the manager she could make her decision. But I would share my unpleasant experience and her offer for a review. She told me that was a threatening and horrible thing to them; I should show appreciation that the restaurant accommodated the team dinner in their place. I told her I did appreciate their service and the food. However, I would also share my experience and leave other customers to make their...
Read moreWe have been going to Brew Table for years, but it saddens me to say there has been a noticeable decline in the quality of their food.
I used to rave about this place and tell everyone they needed to check it out...particularly for the pizza, which used to be SPECTACULAR. Seriously some of the best in the city! Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. The pizza is now some of the worst I've ever had anywhere and honestly, I would be embarrassed to serve this to my guests. The change seems to have happened about a year and a half ago, and I keep ordering it every now and then to see if it was a fluke, but unfortunately the change seems to be permanent. The crust is obviously pre-made and pre-cooked and is somehow even more cardboard-y than a grocery store frozen pizza. If you do find yourself at Brew Table and you respect your tastebuds, for the love of god, order ANYTHING but the pizza.
We have continued to go to Brew Table (regardless of the shameful pizza) because the food was otherwise quite delicious and the service was excellent. The service remains excellent (and the restaurant itself is beautiful), but we are finding the food is hit-and-miss more often than not. Sometimes we are wowed, but it seems increasingly likely that we leave disappointed.
I seriously hope some changes are made to reverse this downward trend. We are faithful, long-term customers and we will continue to visit for the time being in the hopes of improvement, but if things continue to decline, we'll unfortunately need to find a new...
