Boston Pizza — Restaurant in Parksville

My husband and I had dinner & a shared dessert here this evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our food, and the service was bang on! I had their Chicken fettuccine Alfredo with tomatoes and green onions and my husband had a soup of some sort followed up with a personal size pizza.

After a mear couple of minutes of finishing his soup, he says to me.. "ok.. they could bring out my pizza anytime now. " .. .. Boom! There she was.. right on que with his personal lil pizza in hand! We start to chuckle, as the timing was impeccable. My husband starts looking under the table for a hidden mic 😂 The gal was a lil bewildered lol.. I then explained about her amazing timing.. she laughed after hearing the story.

She was a terrific hostess/server, and we want her to know that she's appreciated. Really wish I could remember the name I saw on the bill.. possibly Lilly? She was attentive, polite, happy and helped to make the entire experience another 5* experience for us.

We ended the visit by sharing a Chocolate Explosion which I highly recommend if you've never tried one. They are very yummy. (Adding photo for reference) It is a creamy chocolate mousse with chunks of cheesecake, caramel, toffee, pecans, and almonds on a chocolate crust. Yummnm

Our server "Sabatian" (hoping the spelling is correct) was fricken amazing!! He's not only in possession of Great People Skills.. but he's funny and extremely smart too! We do hope to see him again!

All of the food was good as usual, with the exception of the "fake" chicken cubes added to a salad.. the chicken is probably real, but for whatever reason each piece was like chewing on a wet sponge.

My husband and I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner out to celebrate a promotion at work. When we arrived at the restaurant there was two employees at the front desk. As we waited another employee walked over. Non of the three even acknowledged that we were there. Disappointed we left, we had almost always had very good customer service here. My husband later called and asked to speak with the manager. The woman on the phone said that there's an assistant manager. She then rudely demanded to know what the call was about. When my husband said it's not your concern, I asked to speak with the manager, she got very snarky. When the assistant manager finally did come to the phone, my husband told her about our experience. He told her how up till today we really enjoyed coming to Boston Pizza, and that we usually come in once every week or two. Our phylosphily with restaurants is that everyone should get good food, good service, and a clean place to eat. We are so disappointed by the lack of even the most basic of service. There was nothing wrong,even though they were very busy, with looking up with a smile and acknowledging we were there. Maybe saying someone will be with you shortly. So very disappointed! It will be a while before we go back. We did a quick accounting of what we spend in a year at this restaurant. Almost $5000.00, that's when it's just my husband and I. We also like to eat there when our children and their spouses are in town. That really increases the amount. Hopefull others weren't treated like we were today. So my friends were drunk, not to the point that they were bothering other people, but just a fun buzz. And that was only 2 out of 5 of us.

We were seated by a sweet hostess and gathered ourselves to order drinks. The first waitress was very flustered over one of us ordering a lemon drop shot which seemed to be a big fopah because even though he didn't have government issued photo ID but had a temporary driver's license and a photo ID on a Costco card which was accepted earlier at a liquor store AND THEN they proceeded to give my WASTED friend an ALCOHOLIC DRINK. Our waitresses changed somewhere in between all of this and we ended up with the floor supervisor as our server.

After waiting 15 minutes for our order to be taken and noticing that one of the waitresses (which was our waitress from before) was EATING THEN WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS, CONTINUED TO PREP CUTLERY, we were rudely served. We brought up the waitress eating issue and asked if that was food safe (knowing full well it wasn't) and were answered that it was. The supervisor said quite flakely that she would mention it to her boss and even when he came to tend to us, he was extraordinarily standoffish.

Our wasted friend once again asked for an alcoholic beverage AND WAS ALMOST SERVED. WE had to say he was cut off. After I had gone to the bathroom, I caught AN OTHER WAITRESS EATING AND PREPPING CUTLERY. When we mentioned it to the supervisor, she blatantly ignored us and fetched our bills. Needless to say, she didn't get great tips.
