The family wanted tacos so we stopped here to try it out. The menu was disappointing, only showing 3 ingredients for the tacos (meat+lettuce+tomato), I don’t like tomato so I got it without, thinking surely there would be more than 2 ingredients on my tacos.. right? Wrong. They gave me chicken and lettuce and that was it, they had one sauce option which they called mild spicy, not even sure what it was. The chicken was boiled and while it was flavoured okay, it was soaking wet with water and my taco was dripping water non stop. Every bite was just a mouthful of chicken. For Mexican food this was awful, there was NO: Guacamole Pickled onions Classic taco cabbage mix, just plain sliced lettuce Other options for sauce like a burrito sauce, salsa, Smokey chipotle, baja sauce. My suggestions: Give us more variety, less meat, more toppings and sauces, include cheese for free not 55 cents, put the cheese over the chicken to melt, put salsa on the top.

It was like being in Mexico. Let me tell you, Parksville needed this authentic cooking. I've eaten at many Mexican restaurants and most somehow change the richness and true flavor of the food to almost a fast food taste. Not this restaurant, it's as delicious as it gets! I had the chicken mole, served with rice, beans and a salad. It was mouthwatering, and what I remember from an abuela that taught me how to make when I'd go to Zihuatenajo. Plenty of parking outside and a patio. The Service was wonderful and friendly. I will be back and will tell my friends!

Awesome food! Very authentic (and gluten free), but with a couple non-Mexican options which helped my picky kid out. Very patient with our 3 bills, lunch for 11. They warned us the kitchen might be a little slow due to staffing, but our food came out very timely and the server was very attentive. Staff remembered our order next time we came!

I have been craving Mexican food (specifically chili relanos and tamales) for a while now. We decided to check out the new Mexican restaurant, Jalapenos, in Parksville. Neither one of those were on the menu so my husband ordered the flautas, I ordered the burritos tex mex as it was the only thing on the menu that had cheese. Both came with refried beans and rice. My husband commented that his 3 flautas contained unseasoned ground chicken wrapped in an overly crispy tortilla, topped with guacamole (that tasted store bought) on top. He was not impressed. My beef burrito was quite tasty but had very little cheese on top. The refried beans could have come from a can and the rice may have been minute rice. I wouldn't call this aurhentic Mexican in a long shot. There is no love put into it and it showed. Prices are reasonable, but if you want more cheese, guacamole or sour cream, it's an extra charge. Maybe when they get their liquor license they can add a few extras to their plates and make their profit...

Always good food here, I eat here once a week or so. Edit - it was almost every Tuesday I eat here, but today when I called they told me they are closed on Tuesdays as well now. That is unfortunate and I've changed my review a little because of it. Not being open on Mondays and Tuesdays sucks because I work in parksville on those days and unfortunately I won't be able to continue enjoying their food due to this change. They also just raised their prices this week. Raising prices and closing on Tuesdays at the same time is definitely bad for business and has changed me from a happy customer to me saying "I guess they don't want my business" I'm leaving the food at 5* because this isn't a complaint about the quality of the food, it's a complaint about how the...
