Where Chicken Dreams Are Fried to Perfection ā Popeyes Parksville
āāāāā
So I was cruising into Parksville to see a customer and had about an hour to grab lunch. I was this close to pulling into Wendyās when I remembered a glorious moment in my lifeāeating at Popeyes in Nanaimo, managed by the legend himself, Ahmed. The man made chicken feel like a spiritual experience. So I thought, āWhat the heck, letās give Parksvilleās Popeyes a chance.ā
And sweet crispy heavens, Iām so glad I did.
The place was spotlessālike, you-could-host-a-wedding-reception-in-the-bathroom clean. I ordered the classic chicken sandwich, and it was on point. Iām talking crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, seasoned like it was blessed by the Colonelās cooler cousin from Louisiana.
Letās break it down:
Chicken sandwich: Glorious. A spiritual experience between two buns.
Onion rings: Crispier than fresh $100 bills.
Buttery biscuit: So good I wanted to write it a poem.
Strawberry pie: I took one bite and questioned all my life decisions that didnāt involve ordering two.
Whoever is managing this location deserves a crown made of biscuit dough. The food was amazing, the place was clean, and the whole dining experience felt like someone actually caredāwhich is rare in fast food these days.
Popeyes Parksville, youāve officially redeemed the franchise and won my fried heart. Iāll be backāwith friends. And maybe...

Weāve been eating at this chain for a long time across Canada and the US, but we were impressed with the service and quality of the food. While we had to wait a bit for the spicy chicken, it was totally worth it! Fresh, juicy and prefectly seasoned. Many other locations will often give you chicken that may have been sitting for a bit, but not here. Sides were also super good and tasty. The pies were amazing as well. Special thanks to Juver (hope I spelled it right) for treating us right :) Weāll definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe got there 25 minutes before closing timeāthey told us they could only make one sandwich and no spicy chicken. I ended up changing my order so the person I was with could have a sandwich and got some chicken instead. We also wanted to order hot wings which were still advertised with a small pop up sign on the counter but, again, because they closed in 25 minutes, they werenāt making anything else. We did get our food very quickly though which was nice. Ended up going to dominos down the street to get more food. Iām sure itās better in the daytime but I wasnāt very...
