My review is not really based on my experience at Starbucks, per se, but of the my experience with the staff and management. It's a bit of a long story but I'll try to keep it short.
Essentially, I forgot a backpack (with my ereader in it, a power pack I intended to return, and other miscellanea) on my way back to Toronto after a camping trip at this location. When I got home on the same day I realized my error and gave Starbucks a call. I explained that I didn't have a car and didn't have any easy way of returning to Starbucks and offered to send them money to have my bag shipped to me. At the time the manager seemed very sympathetic, told me not to worry about it, and said they'd have it shipped to me. I gave her my address and telephone number and hung up feeling relieved and thankful.
After a week or so I hadn't received anything nor had I gotten any postal notice so I gave them a call. The manager received my call and told me that they were quite busy and simply hadn't had a chance yet: fair enough. She said that they'd text me when the package was sent. I waited two more weeks, didn't receive anything, so I gave them another call but this time I didn't catch the manager; another employee told me that they would leave the message with her and have her call me back.
Waited about another week, didn't receive a phone call, nor did I get my package so I called them back. After a few tries over a couple days I reached the manager again. She told me that they had lost my address and telephone number which is why they hadn't sent it to me. I was bit annoyed but things like this happen so I hopefully gave her my address again and waited about another week. Still nothing.
Gave them a call again to see what was going on. I was told that another employee had sent the package out about a week ago. I asked for a tracking number but was told that it wasn't available until she got a hold of the other employee. I waited a couple more days (maybe the package took a few days?), didn't receive anything nor did I receive a notice. I wasn't prepared to get into another game of phone tag so I decided to call Purolater. It took a few days and two phone calls with Purolator but finally I found my package. It was sent to an incomplete address (they wrote the address incorrectly) 1 or 2 days AFTER I was told "it was sent out a week ago".
Today is November 4th. I won't be able to get my package from Purolator until the 6th. I was told on September 20th by the manager of Starbucks Parry Sound "not to worry" and that they'd have my bag sent to me.
I get that she was doing me a favour and that the error was on my part, but in the end it really wasn't a favour. If they had said "sure, we'll send it to you but it will take about a month and a half", I would ave simply said no. In fact, it would had saved both time AND money if she had simply refused to send it: I had intended to return the power pack I left in my bag but won't be able to since it took more than 30 days (Best Buy's return policy is less than 30 days) for her to send it to me. I'm an avid reader and read several hours every single day. Not having my ereader feels to me what it probably feels to not have your cell phone or television for most people. I had to buy the book I was reading, plus 3 more while waiting to receive my package just to feel normal.
At no point was I rude, accusatory, or impatient so I'm not sure why I received such poor treatment. My experience definitely left me with a sour taste...
Read moreI always order the same thing, but I'm seriously getting to the point of not giving my money to this store. Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew, I used to work at this location so I know what the drink is supposed to look/taste like. It has missed the mark everytime, called the store a few months back and spoke with the manager. She had apologized for the drink not "looking" correct. Unfortunately that isn't the issue, it doesn't taste the way I would like it to, because everytime I have ordered it it has little to NO cold foam even if ordered with light ice and extra foam. Just a small dollop on the top, if I wanted a cold brew with a splash of cream and 3 pumps of vanilla I would order that. Even when this had happened going through the drive threw the girl at the window was extremely rude when asked to have the drinks corrected. I usually don't make bad reviews as I work in the service industry, but all they would have to do is even look at the amount of cold foam in the promotion pictures to know how much there should be in this drink. This location used to be great, management needs to take quality of beverage seriously with...
Read moreIt has become a joke in our family as to how they will create a horrible experience. We stop here once or twice a year and they have failed us every time. I will give them this you never know what they will do wrong.
For example I have waited 26 minutes for my order, to be told first they were busy when I asked why all these others were being served and I was waiting, and then they lost the order and once made it was wrong. I was blamed for the error because it was my fault the trainee didn’t understand what a chai latte is. No apology.
Today I ordered two sandwiches waited and then when the first was done got told, « we have been busy and we are out « of the other. Not sure how at 1 you are out. Not sure why that was not known when I placed the order? Of course the one they were out of was the only reason we stopped there. It was one of the only vegetarian options they have. Again no we are sorry. But the manager explained how they don’t do refunds; did manage to get the money back on my starbucks card.
AVOID this store.
Starbucks please put a proper management team...
