Stopped by Ships-A-Hoy Fish and Chips for a quick lakeside meal while visiting from Alberta, and it hit the spot! It’s a take-out style fish joint right on the lake, which makes it perfect for grabbing your food and enjoying it by the water. The fish portions were generous, with a great cod-to-batter ratio — lots of fish in every bite! The batter itself was a bit on the mild side and could’ve used a bit more seasoning for our taste, but still nice and crispy. The poutine on the side was a winner — cheesy, saucy, and well-balanced. Great little stop for a casual meal with a view!

My family and I decided to stop at the park across the street for a break in our travels. I really love fish and chips so I was excited to see what Ships-Ahoy had to offer. We got two orders of the fish and chips (cod) and some chicken tenders and fries. The young man working the counter was friendly as was the girl who gave me my order. The batter was crispy and the portions were a very good size. While three of the pieces were very good, one was quite dry and struck me as being a bit overcooked. Will definitely try again, but next time I will have the halibut.

We went there this past weekend. The fish was so good. The serving of fish was big, a good size and so flacky. The fish was well cooked, outside crispy but not super greasy. This price seems a little high for the halibut but the two peice feed two adults. The colsaw was okay and the fries would be better if salted but I can add my own salt. The fish was so good it was hard to fault them on the sides. The wait from order to hot food was not long and the staff was super friendly. My kid loved the ice cream. It is worth the drive there for the fish. So yummy

My wife and I went tonight around 7 to have some fish n chips and they informed us that the fryers where already off for the evening so we left. As we where half a block away the man working the front counter ran up and offered us another customers order who hadn't picked theirs up and as they where going to throw it out they offered it to us instead!

Best slightly warm Cod, Chips and Shrimp we've ever had. This place knows customer service. We will be back again.

In all seriousness, we've had their food before and when it's fresh it's actually very good, even the food they gave us tonight was not bad. I really appreciate the gesture...
