Been on the hunt for the best lobster roll from Toronto to Halifax and I have to tell you, Tom's wins! We rolled into Peggy's Cove with our motorhome on Sunday night and checked out the sites as the sun set, amazing photos. Thought we would catch the sunrise and shoot some more photos the next day. Slept in of course and by the time we got out with the cameras it was packed with tourists, busses and cars everywhere. Around 10am we decided to bail, hadn't had breakfast and thought why not a lobster roll from Tom's for breakfast. OMG they win. The ingredients were so fresh tasting and the bun was perfect. There was real thought in this culinary delight. I had the classic and my wife had the naked. Hands down the best of the best for 2,000 kilometers. Don't miss experience if you go to Peggy's Cove. We will be back just for the...

Big shout out to Connor from Tom's Lobster Shack who came through for me in a big way last Wednesday! After waiting nearly four hours for our car rental agency to deliver a replacement vehicle after a tire blowout in Cape Breton, we arrived to Tom's just as they were closing up for the day and were initially turned away from . I plead my case to Connor, letting him know how I had been hearing about Tom's lobster rolls for three years after my wife and mother-in-law visited back in 2018 and was really looking forward to enjoying a lobster roll while visiting Peggy's Cove. After hearing my sob story, Connor graciously agreed to make me, my wife, and my mother-in-law lobster rolls! Connor, thank you for making my day! The lobster rolls were delicious and worth every mile I spent on the highway to get them....

After eating plenty of lobster rolls during our travels around the Maritimes, it was nice to have a variety of options and try something different at Tom's Lobster Shack. When we arrived around 11:30am on a Sunday in mid-June, there was already a steady (but fast-moving) line up of people.

The cajun lobster roll was tasty - it's more saucy/wet due to the mayo, but we enjoyed it. The truffle lobster roll was good too, but we felt the truffle flavor could've been stronger (perhaps more truffle aioli would help). We also ordered their Father's Day special - lobster, shrimp and crab gumbo with rice. This was fantastic and great value for $22 - amazing flavors and generous portion.

Seating is limited (six picnic tables) but turnover is pretty quick. Just watch out...

We ate here recently while staying in the area. A lot of reviews I read said that it was expensive but at $28 plus tax it's right in-line with everywhere else and in most cases a much better deal. You definitely get what you pay for as it is absolutely stuffed with lobster. I had the Classic which I have to say was pretty close to the best lobster roll I've ever had and I've had lots in all of the Atlantic provinces. My wife had the Truffle lobster roll and she also loved it. They come with chips and sweet and butter pickles. We got lucky and in our minds had the best table with a great view. I will eat here every time we are at Peggy's Cove. Seriously do not hesitate to try a lobster roll here, you will not be disappointed.

Food is worth the hype, the best lobster roll we have tried in the province. Visited Cape Breton and Halifax and this is the best one I’ve tried. Be prepared to shell out some cash, paid over a $100+, roughly $28 per roll I think, but the serving is massive. If you just want to try it, just buy one cos it’s enough to fill up two people. Service could be better especially for the amount of money you pay for. Ordered to go because it was crazy windy and pouring rain. There was no assistance at all in trying to make sure everything you need is in the bag considering you don’t have the ability to hold up drinks and a bag plus your umbrella in a very stormy day at the cove.
