First off, I want to say I have no problem with both the food and the service. My question is to the rapid increase in pricing.
This is for the Fonthill McDonalds on HWY 20. Noticed a significant increase in pricing of a breakfast meal over the past month spoke to the manager and advised that the pricing was a promotion that is now over and the Owner's determine the pricing. With so much pressure on inflation and obviously the large spike in pricing since COVID in many products, was hoping to understand this one. I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but I will share. May 17th, 2024 - Purchased a #3 Breakfast - Bacon Egg McMuffin Price $5.99 Before Tax and extra Hashbrown was $0.70. June 20th, 2024 - Same order Price was now $6.09 Before Tax and extra Hashbrown was $1.00. (Small Increase). today June 29th, 2024 - Same order Price now $7.49 Before Tax and extra Hashbrown was $1.00. Now I understand that business need to make a profit and even though these increases are very small on a single consumer, this is a 25% increase on the Breakfast Meal and a 47% increase on the Hashbrown. With our Bank of Canada trying to do everything in their power to bring down inflation, do you not feel that it should be everyone making a constructive effort to do so? Came here to pick up an Uber order tonight and on their business note THE RESTAURANT WRITES for the app (I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I WAS A MANAGER FOR TIM HORTONS) it says come to Drive Thru for all orders after 8pm. It was like 10:30 so we were like okay go through Drive Thru BECAUSE WHY WOULD A RESTAURANT HAVE MISLEADING INFORMATION FOR EVERY DRIVER TO SEE?? WRONG. We get in trouble. And not only were they RUDE about it but when I informed them it was on THEIR business note that THEY can fix THEY STARTED ARGUING WITH ME! Asking me for my name because of my behaviour??? Um all I said was "Just so you know, to whoever I spoke to on the speaker, your business note specifically says to come through Drive Thru after 8pm, as a previous manager I know you guys can write the notes so you need to change that and stop being misleading and then RUDE when people follow what your business note says!" They had the audacity to tell me that they were making a complaint on me because of my behavior and I just laughed and said because I told you your note was wrong and I'm expected to just know that your note was incorrect??? Read moreThey made a mistake with my order. I ordered a Grand Big Mac meal and got a regular Big Mac in a Grand box. I went inside to speak with employee I was told that I got what I ordered. I compared it to my wife's Big Mac and it was identical size etc. They basically told me I was wrong and too bad. I said not acceptable and asked for my money back which they did but begrudgingly. I wanted a Grand Big Mac as I told my wife how good they were having had one the week before at a different location so I drove to Welland location and when I pulled up to order they asked if I would like to try a Grand Big Mac. I said as a mater of fact yes I would and in the background I heard another employee saying I couldn't order one because they were out of buns for the Grand Big Mac. At this point I was so annoyed that I cancelled the order and drove to a nearby Harvey's because I was starving and guess what THEY HAD EXACTLY WHAT THEY ADVERTISED and with a smile!
