Edited slightly, in response to owners reply. Ive been consistently disappointed by the attitude of the owner and staff here for years. Mostly the owner. But that usually tend to rub off on the staff. No matter how good the food or coffee are, when you live somewhere for years and are made to feel unwelcome by newcomers that leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth. If she had spent half the time being friendly to me while I was spending my money there as she did responding to my review I would never have written anything in the first place. So no. Won't be emailing you now. You had 13 years to be friendly. I spent too much money there. I'll never go back. And in regards to me shaming and or abusing you and your staff? Never have I ever been anything but polite and courteous and a good tipper. I'm writing a review. I do not think my honest experience and opinion is abusive or shaming. It's a negative review. it's allowed. You are the one exploring ways to make yourself feel better. I feel fine having my say and spending my money elsewhere. I pre tipped for not even a thank you and was served totally the wrong drink and they just half fixed it and with only one other customer there. That was yesterday. The last time I ever go there. I was disappointed to...

I recently visited Blackbird because I stumbled upon due to its positive reviews on Maps. Despite its small size, it is primarily a grab-and-go establishment, although they do offer a few seats both inside and outside. One of the highlights of the place is its location, as you can enjoy the cool view of the train passing by right in front of you.

The coffee and pastries at this cafe were truly outstanding, living up to the praise it received online. However, one aspect that was not mentioned in the reviews was the pricing, which I found to be a bit high ($13 x iced lattes // $18 x 1 latte + 1 London Fog + 1 cookie). Despite the high prices, the place remains bustling with customers at all times, which indicates its popularity.

On the positive side, I found the staff to be friendly and efficient, handling the busy environment with ease. However, I'm not inclined to return solely due to the pricing issue. Overall, it was a...

Had such a lovely experience at Blackbird! There aren’t that many breakfast options in Pemberton, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from Blackbird. Ordered a breakfast sandwich with bacon and it was spectacular, one of the best I’ve had in a while! Not just in the area, but period. Latte was great. Also got a cinnamon bun because I read a review they were good and they did not disappoint! Fresh dough, perfectly sweet, truly delicious. Customer service is why I’m writing this review - my husband actually dropped the cinnamon role on the floor as we were leaving (a heartbreaking situation), and I brought it back to the counter and told them and they gave me a fresh one for free, with a smile. Really made our day!! We’ll be back tomorrow....

Everything is freshly made. They are open until they sell out. Seems like the popular place in town. Was excited for a cinnamon bun but it was sold out by 10am when we went. I'll try to go earlier next time. We asked some locals what their fave items were while we waited and without hesitation the main responses we received were the Americano and the cinnamon buns. Its a bit hidden because they serve everything from a window at the old train station but its clearly a fan favorite amongst locals and tourists alike. The paninis are delicious bread is fresh and soft, not crunchy like typical ciabatta, very nice. Pictured is capicolla panini grilled and a pan du chocolat.

Got recommended to go here by the man monitoring our campsite, and I'm really glad we made a point of going. The latte's are yummy, but the real treat were the pastries! Tried a chocolate croissant the first day and came back for an almond croissant the next and both were phenomenal. Delicate, flakey crust on the outside and perfectly soft and buttery within. It was pretty busy the first day we went, but they got through the line so fast! Everyone was really nice too, and they answered questions promptly and confidently (which is always impressive to me).

Excellent little place in Pemberton. I have had my fair share of BLT sandwiches but this place had the BEST BLT sandwich I have ever had in my life. The pastries and other stuff like coffee is good too. Service was good, atmosphere was fine, and overall it was a good place. This was recommended by a colleague from Vancouver. Will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Whistler/Pemberton. My only criticism is that it is a small place so you may not always have seating but then again Pemberton isn't exactly a bit town.
