An unassuming little spot close to the highway once you've entered Pemberton, these are some of the best burgers I've had in recent memory. The space itself is very nice - a modern yet rustic interior with a sizable patio area that's great for a sunny day. There was a fair bit of seating inside and out, so you probably wont have too much trouble finding a table somewhere. I opted for the Mile One Burger, which comes with the standard fixings - lettuce, tomato, etc - along with aged white cheddar and bacon. I added mushrooms, as well, which set me back an additional $1 or so. Cooked to order, my burger was delicious - the flavorful, fresh, high-quality ingredients used were on full display. The burger patty was generous, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked so that the burger was juicy with every bite. I also got a chance to sample their Brisket Sandwich, which was topped with a delicious apple sauerkraut and some delicious brisket. I preferred my burger, but the two items I sampled were enough to convince me that likely anything on their menu is going to be plenty tasty. If you're going for a side, I'd strongly recommend their mac and cheese, although I greatly enjoyed their poutine, as well, upon my most recent visit. All in all, this place is a hit. I make a point of stopping here whenever I'm in Pemberton, and I suggest you do the same!

Mile One Eating House is comfort food done right, without the grease or the guilt. Locally sourced ingredients, all natural beef, and no fillers or seasoning of any kind. No deep fryer in the kitchen because they are adamant on keeping with the west coast healthy lifestyle. We came to Mile One while visiting Pemberton, and would happily travel miles to eat here again! The wait was quite long for our food, however upon receiving my order it was clear as to why that was; everything was fresh. I got the Wildfire burger with the house salad. I was expecting a kick from the smoked cheddar and jalapeno chutney listed on the ingredients, but no fire was present. That said, it was mild and refreshing, with a taste that was deep and bold. The house salad was excellent and the honey vinaigrette was on point, I must say. I enjoyed soaking in the spectacular views of Mt. Currie from the patio. The experience is what boosts my review up to 5 stars. It really is a beautiful spot. Great people working there. I would highly recommend stopping by.

To start, I thoroughly enjoyed the meal I had there. I had the Mile One Burger and a half Mac and cheese, both of which were delicious and full of flavour. Please keep it as is, because I found it delicious and will definitely have it again should we travel this way again. My wife had a veggie wrap and she did not enjoy it very much. As full as it was with healthy ingredients, it lacked in tastiness. Some sort of sauce and or additional seasonings would have added much. The waitress was kind enough to ask what could be done to improve on the taste, and we mentioned this to her. Apparently, they had a version of that wrap in the past that was more tasty, but with some change in the kitchen it isn't the same. Please take it from us (and the other review I just read) and look into enhancing your veggie wraps.

This place is normally pretty good. It’s been a go to spot after a day in the mountains for 5 or 6 years now - great to refuel. But today I was really let down, and after trying to talk to their staff about it (awkward for me I never like to complain) they fully brushed me off. Needless to say I’m pretty bummed - bummed enough that I decided to write this review as I finish my second dinner at McDonald’s across the street...

After a long one in the mountains today, I decided to treat myself to more than the usual burger and get a chicken parm. Little pricey for me at $20 but lots of food. After telling the cashier I wanted the parm she tried talking me into the daily special. Heard hand rolled pasta and pulled pork and decided I might as well double check with her if she would really recommend it over the parm. She did - $22 but I figured if she would recommend it over the parm to a sunburnt hungry guy still wearing his snowboard gear at 8pm it must be a lot of food - and good.

It arrived and looked pretty disappointing, maybe a dozen little pasta tubes, few slices of zucchini, some arugula, some fancy crusty decoration on top and a dallop of pulled pork. Honestly the pulled pork sandwich is probably more food (and flavor) and that thing costs ~$12. I started eating and bit into the crusty stuff, tasted like styrofoam and was impossible to chew. The pasta was super bland - almost no flavor at all and the pulled pork seemed like it was probably old - maybe they needed to get rid of it so they thought of this dish?

I’ll eat just about anything and don’t think I’ve ever sent something back but this was disappointing - I tried to get someone’s attention to talk to them about it. As I was trying to wave someone down, it dawned on me that sending it back would mean that I would need to wait for more food... I was prettttty hungry (long day in the mountains) so I gave up the effort and decided to just finish the rest of the food, forget about it and call this one a loss on my part.

As my plate was cleared, I was asked how everything was. Not feeling like I could really lie about this one, I admitted that the special had let me down. There was a pause and I wasn’t sure how to follow the comment, I joked if she could throw in a brownie or something? I almost always get one of their brownies, after a meal - at $1.25 they’re a steal. I figured this wasn’t a lot to ask and if she went for it I’d feel a bit better about my botched purchase.

Unfortunately she went and got a manager, and things got awkward - what started as a complaint and suggestion turned into a scene. I got up from the table and stepped aside with the manager. I explained that I was pretty disappointed by my dish. I had wanted to order the chicken parm but was suggested the special and it tasted terrible and was a tiny portion. I knew I had already finished it, a tough position to complain from, but I suggested again that maybe they could throw in a brownie or a little something?

The manager was super dismissive and essentially shrugged - didn’t even offer an apology. I finished by saying I didn’t want to press the issue. I left mile one , said bye to my buddies I had ate with, and then drove across the street to McDonald’s because I was still starving. The burgers aren’t as good, but I might just eat here...

3 adults and 5 children we all ordered meals and it was all extremely disappointing. Not worth the price at all.

Their pulled pork with side of greens was a waste it’s more bun than meat and the taste was not great and side of greens was very plain.

The chicken pesto sandwich had too much added ingredients that it doesn’t taste like a normal Sandwich but the smash potatoes were a hit that was literally the only item that tasted good.

Then we also ordered a goat cheese with almond salad and the grilled chicken thigh which I had to leave and not eat and wanted to vomit. Does not blend well with the salad at all. This was $30 rip off.

The kids has a hot dog and hamburger and chicken fingers off kids menu and none of it comes with a drink or friends so not much of a kids friendly menu.

We will never come to this place or recommend it. Between three adult meals none of us liked any of the meals. Do not waste your money here. We wish we went to Macdonalds kitty korner to this place.

Maybe we should have said something about our food to server but there were 9 meals.

Our friend recommended this place and Google reviews says 4.5 stars. Must be a mistake.

The vibe inside is great and the severs are nice...
