What an extreme displeasure it was visiting The Pony. Had it not been for our terrible waitress Tiffany, there is some potential that we could've had a half decent visit. My food was satisfactory, albiet expensive and my ceasar was actually good. Both of which were no thanks to Tiff. The service we recieved was absolute trash. (Pro tip: when all the water glasses are empty and lined up on the edge of the table for 10+ minutes, it means you are suppose to put more water in them.) So not only did we have to get up to fill our own glasses, but we made it about 2/3 of the way through our meals before we managed to flag someone down to ask for napkins and utensils. As you could've guessed, no quality check was done as I'm sure Tiffany didn't care if we were satisfied with our food. So when it came time to pay, we were all obviously frustrated and asked to speak to a manager. The person who then came to our table was very apologetic and comp'd our drinks to make up for the terrible service. At this point, we are all thankful but still not pleased with the overall experience. The manager did her best to right the wrongs of our server from hell, so at this point the manager saved the day. Nobody was going to leave any reviews, and we all would have tipped the bare minimum 10%, and laughed amongst ourselves at the waste of time and money we just endured; Until Tiffany came back. She says in the most condescending and patronizing tone you can imagine "whats wrong guys?" So I politely informed her that she had done a terrible job and listed the reasons why, as per her inquiry.. Let's just say not everyone handles constructive critisizm well. After some awkward and confronting dialogue between us and our server, it's abundantly clear we needed to leave this establishment as soon as possible and keep as much of our hard earned money as possible (I also work in the service industry and live off my tips). For the second time in my life I left a 0% tip and tried to leave, but not before Tiffany left her tables to follow us out the front door to tell us to "never come back". Trust me, we will never ever come back and I'll make sure none of our friends do either. Or at least as long as sub-par servers are being employed here.
Thanks for the...
Read moreAfter everyone in Pemberton saying I needed to go to the Pony I finally did. And it did not meet expectations. Some positives but mainly negatives.
I stepped in They seated me right away so... its a positive! It took 22 mins for someone to come take my order (negative). I asked for a Paloma (no salt on the edge) and ordered the gourmet burger with poutine. Another 18 mins for the Paloma to come. (YES.. when it takes that long I count minutes cause I'm bored waiting for a server.) It had salt on the edge. (Negative). You can tell it was a rushed drink. But hey.. it's alcohol.. Paloma's can be made to interpretation. Fair enough.
Food came 12 minutes later. That's 52 minute wait for a drink and food.
Burger was INCREDIBLE!!! Holy that was good.
The 6.50$ add on for poutine. Poutine was horrendous. Cold, not enough gravy, fries overcooked and short. Cheese curds could not melt. They were lukewarm, cold and gravy was the same. Poutine shouldn't be difficult to make unless you're rushing and don't care. (Personal opinion ofcourse).
Finish the burger and poutine ( i was super hungry) in 10 mins. (BTW this whole time the server never comes to my table and I constantly have to try to get her attention. (W/o success ofcourse). She finally comes over. I ask her something simple. Can I have a pint of pale ale and the bill. She says "sure". 20 mins goes by, no beer, no bill. Get her attention again. She says "sorry bar is backed up". Sure... 5 mins goes by. I'm frustrated and been in this restaurant more then 90mins...
I leave simply asking her to cancel the beer and get the bill. She brings the bill. I pay. It's over.
In the end. Everything mostly terrible but that burger... awesome. I'll never go back.
I truly hope I was an outlier. I was truly craving a beer.. 😔
Bill was $42 (coulda been more if they just acknowledged my existence..).
I still tipped 15%. So...
Read moreWe went here after a long hike. We chose to eat in this facility because of 4.4 star review. Of course we saw the peice range too and we were expecting a nice meal and good time. However, our orders took about 45 mins to get to our table despite it.not being too busy in the restaurant. When our food came in, they were just 'okay'. They taste like they are worth less than $10 because of the quality. We order chicken wings and all of them are over cooked and almost burnt. While thw dry ribs are EXTREMELY dry and we cant even eat the whole order. Our server, Megan, only asked us once how everything LITERALLY while she is handling us our food. obvioysly we haven't tasted our food yet.so what else can we say but "okay". She never bother to offer us a refill of water. We even put our empty glasses on the edge of the table to give her a hint that we needed water after all that EXTREMLY DRY WINGS AND RIBS. We waited, but ot seems like she is not going to give us water so we just asked her to right after she cleared all our plates. I have never went to a restaurant without giving tips, but because of the poor service I dont think she deserves tips. We only ate half of our order and wished we just ate at McDonalds and save half of our money. Please DO NOT BE FOOLED BY OTHER REVIEWS AND...
