Fish and Rice, Sushi and Beyond. — Restaurant in Pemberton

Excellence, hard to find and hard for many restaurants to achieve but this restaurant did it with ease. After a long day of travel I decided to treat myself to a casual meal and I can’t believe that I stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant nestled in Pemberton. I’m so tired of the generic Korean and Chinese owned sushi houses in Vancouver that when I discovered this Japanese owned and operated restaurant I was blown away by their attention to subtle details and flavours, the nuances only true Japanese restaurants can achieve, it was wonderfully refreshing, propelling me back to experiences in Yokohama, Tokyo, Asaksa and Naha. Wow! A truly authentic Japanese dining experience in Pemberton! It’s a delight to be able to order your food and have edifying conversations with your hosts in Japanese while observing the highly trained chefs preparing your food, skilled and knowledgeable the result is incredibly palatable and the flavour that only a skilled itamae san (板前さん) can achieve! All of the food that I tasted was excellent and of the highest quality combined with excellent service from a friendly and enthusiastic staff. The price was fair considering the high quality of what you receive and the extreme dedication to flavour and quality that you receive here, anyone complaining about the prices here doesn’t understand anything about Japanese food and should go back to the generic restaurants or 7-11 to get the sushi that they are used...

Called in order Sushi special going on wasn't Informed at beginning of phone order....1 girl on caulky on phone order..... should of been more informative... Sounded busy in back ground when placing Take out order

She seemed over whelmed when i came to pick up order 2 sushi chef's didn't seem to understand English Clearly stressed out!

Food was fresh Reasonably priced Didn't sell Sake takeout bottles But being right next door to BC Liquor it was not a problem I went and bought and purchased a bottle of nice quality sake

I would go back again but now that I know what I know I would specifically ask if there are specials going on and I would make sure that I asked when I leave for a takeout order which they always seem to run out of.

Would I eat here again sure I would but I would ask more question make sure I had takeout in my hand place my order and ask for specials...
