I'm sorry but I bought a 16 piece chicken and family fries on thurs may 18th for a few workers at my home. I live in Tiny and I heard this was good chicken. I picked it up between 330- 4pm and drove home. This chicken was so dry no one could or wanted to eat it. I was so dissapointed and embarrassed. My husband who eats everything didnt even want it. I ended up having to bbq burgers and hot dogs. I've never paid so much for chicken and fries ever from Kentucky fried chicken or popeyes. This 16 piece and sm box of fries costed me 81.00.š³if it had have been good I wouldnt have cared but it all ended up in the garbage. I wish I could take a picture and send it because I still am in shock. Who can say they ever had a dry leg. I can!...the white meat was stringy and so dry you couldnt swallow it without water. Sorry about a bad review but if the chicken was cooked over and over again they shouldnt do that! I should have bought 2 party size pizzas from pizza delight! Would have been cheaper and delicious.i really thought small town Dixie lee was going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the place to go if you want fresh chicken!! Nice texture and the coating has flavour -- not a mouth full of overpowering 'salt and chemicals'.
The chicken sandwich has a perfect crunch and it stays til the end; even with the sauce and tomato. I like to switch up the sauces -- there's a variety to please whatever mood you're in. Even the plain mayo is lovely and always has a good sauce-to-chicken ratio. Never dry or too messy.
The poutine tastes like real chicken gravy and is not greasy. Lots of curds and comes in different sizes.
The hot chicken sandwich is filling and the gravy is served on the side. Doesn't get soggy on the drive home.
Friendly service -- genuine and pleasant. Food is made with TLC.
**I'm not usually a fan of North American fast-food chicken TBH because it's often overly salty with rubbery meat. Dixie Lee is flavourful and I even crave it lol. I don't just pick up a sandwich because 'it's convenient and on the drive...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOh my lord! This fried chicken is amazing! If i were a death row inmate asking for my last meal, it would be a tie between dixie leeās chicken and my mothers famous lasagne.
I must've looked like a starving refugee greasily shoving this chicken into the vacuum that is my mouth.
The flavour of this chicken is perfect. They dont salt this chicken like they do at other chicken restaurants, leaving your tastebuds feeling like the Carthaginian fields after the Roman Empire destroyed crop production. They put the salt on delicately, as to bring out the flavour properly.
To keep a long story short, Dixie Leeās chicken is now a staple of a trip to Penetang for me.
Save yourself the disappointment of modern KFC or Popeys. Take a trip...
