Flynn's Public House — Restaurant in Penetanguishene

Wow, I just had the single worst experience ever and likely the most embarrassing. My Mom near 80 wanted to take 6 of us for a Sunday evening dinner. I made the Mistake of suggesting Flynn's. When we walked in Sunday night about 7:15pm we were seated and told a bit less than half the menu was available, disturbing but I assumed that meant it was boom busy and selling. We tried to find suitable stuff on the menu but the pickings were slim, skinny slim. Of our 6 meals, one was sent back twice because Brisket Jerky is not a thing. This was my mom's meal, the lady paying the bill. I had gotten this, $14 Mac n cheese skillet which we counted the 7 fork fulls to finish, while it tasted good, no value there $2/fork full. No concessions were made on our bill, no manager visit. Worst dining experience ever and my mom was jipped out of $120+ dollars. Our food, service and treatment was no even suitable for animals. Run far away from this one.....can't wait to see the response to this, it can't be justified!

Edited by adding this: To date, no response from the establishment. It is clear that they didn't care enough then and clearly still don't care. I donno how this place survives but likely all new clients and no repeat business.

**update one year later Still nothing from the owner or management. Disappointed as this was the first placed we dined when we moved into town. We did like it before...

Worst restaurant I have ever eaten at by far. Came there as a party of six for some dinner and we all had a very negative experience. We tried to order some appetizers and most of then were not available due to them running out of them or missing some ingredients at 8:00 pm. Then the appetizers that did come were not good and we had to send the french onion soup back due to it being black and completely bitter. Then after 15 minutes our server comes and says that they ran out of the pasta in the chicken parmesan so it will come with fries. Then when the mains came everything was subpar. The chicken parmesan was fully burnt and needed to be sent back, the stew was also bitter, the open face burger sandwiches (2 people ordered it) were dry, the fish sandwich was very sweet and the taste did not work. The only thing that was good was some sort of Salmon salad. It came with a nice, large piece of fish. All the fries that came with our meals were dry and tasted old. Our server was not bad but she was quite slow with the service but that is the kitchens fault not hers. She even mentioned to us that all the cooks were kids and shouldn't be working there. Overall Bad food, slow service but we had an understanding server. 0/10 would...

Just came back from Flynn's for what I thought would be a quick lunch with my daughter who I just picked up from camp. I was impressed with the patio as it had a lovely view of the water. There were only about 4 full tables on the patio as we had to sit ourselves as no wait staff in sight. I thought we would have a quick lunch but boy was I wrong! It took 15 minutes to get a menu, 15 minutes for drinks and well over and 1 1/2 hours for a fish sandwich and poutine. Before our food came I walked into the restaurant to check out what the delay was and noticed about 12 plates of food just sitting there at the pickup counter getting cold with flies. It also looked to me like kids were cooking the food. At this point patio was getting full of patrons with only 2 poor servers running around serving patio and inside bar. When food finally came it was all stone cold. We ate our food while watching at least 3 tables of people get up and leave in disgust before their orders taken. We paid the bill which seemed overpriced for what we ordered and high tailed it out of there. Sad as the location of this place has potential but the not sure if the management of this place knows how to run a restaurant. WON"T BE RETURNING HORRIBLE...
