Phil's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Penetanguishene

Very disappointed in the food at Phils restaurant The last three meal were terrible the first one can't remember what it was .I wasn't very happy ,but everybody has a bad day , so figured we would give it another shot ,,.We went for all you can eat fish The first plate was ok the second batch of fish wasn't cook , I was turned right off. Its been over a year since our last visit , This time Chicken Slovaki and soup Flat bread with 4 pcs of chicken three pcs of tomato and some small pcs of onion and just dripping with the sauce .Fat bread was saturated and dripping like crazy . The so called soup was bassically broth .There was 2 pcs of celery a pcs of carrot and a little bit of barley . The broth was actually good ,but beef barley soup is suppose to have beef in it and some vegatable . The waitress asked me how it was .i told he I have ordered the fries because there was nothing in the soup . She returned with 1/3 of a bowl with 2 pcs of potato and a chuck of beef fat . I think its the last time we got to Phills ,we left the restaurant after spending basically $30 and went to KFC because we were still hungry . Definitely not recommending Phils to any tourist asking for a decent...

We have gone several times. Phil's is our go to restaraunt. Food is good and reasonable prices. Relaxed atmosphere. It's an older building appearance wise, and has older building problems. Old style home cooking.

If you need a high end fancy restraunt to appease you palette. Or if you want to substitute everything for things not on the menu, this isn't the place to go. And you will ruin everyone else's meal.

I am a picky eater with a lot of food allergies and a sensitive stomach and pretty much a vegetarian. I always find good food and no belly ache after eating. Which is rhe opposite of what I get from most places. That tells me the food is made carefully with little to no cross contamination. And it tells me that kitchen is always clean and everyone is clean. And it means your not getting reheated or deep fried food that is as old as your car.

This restaraunt isn't a franchise, so it's quiet. There isn't 20 something children running around with the music so jacked that you're deaf.

It's locally owned and operated. So you can support your community...

Me and my girlfriend went in for a dinner and we got there at 7:45 they were closing at 8:30 We got our menus and i ordered fish and chips because it was a Friday and the waitress said they have a deal on fish and chips Fridays so I said ok that sounds good and we waited for our food and while eating it I heard one of the workers yell across the kitchen that a fish order late is never good and I should have came in earlier and that it was apparently intentional as if I work in a kitchen and I know what to order at what times I was unaware some stuff should only be ordered throughout the day maybe I did not give enough time but how would I know that if they had that much of an issue with it they should have said hey maybe something else or let me know that it takes awhile the waitress then asked if we wanted a desert which I found funny because clearly they were in a rush to go home also we were the only people in there so not like we held them up we were considerate enough to leave by 8:28 so...
