Had to give one star as this site makes it impossible to rank any lower. Asides from the excellent service provided by the waitresses, the food was deplorable. We attended for St. Patrick's Day and first of all the special menu was unclear as the items for the day had no prices. We ordered the Irish stew and it was anything but. It was a very small portion of beef gravy in a bowl with a piece of meat and a couple of vegetables with a yorkshire pudding in the middle and a tiny piece of toasted bread on the side. To top off the lackluster appearance, the food was all cold. We sent the food back and instead of fresh food coming out, the same dishes were returned after being microwaved. Now the food tasted soggy and over cooked. My daughter's - hamburger purchased from the kids menu had a pattie that was burned and dried out with no dressing or garnishes provided. I'm not sure how a child is supposed to find a plain burger with no garnishes enticing. Her fries were so salty the kitchen staff must have dumped a ton of salt on them. I tried one myself to make sure and immediately gagged, and reached for my water. The wait staff were apologetic and tried their best to accommodate. We should have just asked for the bill and left. However, we gave them a second chance. We then tried the beef au jus and the house burger, it was so-so in terms of taste and appearance for the price. The fries did not look like fresh cut fries, but store bought frozen. We were very disappointed with the food and will not be returning. No deductions were made on the bill to accommodate all the screw-ups. I can think of better ways to spend a $175. However, we were given a small cake in a plastic container purchased from the Superstore to...

We were in Midland for my wife’s birthday and asked a trusted source about a special place to eat in the area, and he mentioned Port 21. How glad we are that he did! Our welcome couldn’t have been warmer; and our waitress, Vanessa, was both a lot of fun and exceedingly professional. It was a Friday night, so we both wanted fish but didn’t relish tackling pickerel bones. Vanessa kindly offered to substitute haddock as our dinner entrée. We both had the house salad which came with the meal. It was packed to the gunnels with vegetables and was delicious. Our pan-fried haddock was done to perfection, and the accompanying variety of vegetables put the smattering of vegetables we receive in other restaurants to shame. Our dinner tasted like a home-cooked meal. We topped the evening off by ordering the baklava for dessert, which was out of this world. We mentioned the name of our source to the hostess, Meaghan, with the hopes that she would pass his name on to the owner. She did better than that, as Nick came in shortly afterwards. We were thrilled to tell him how much we enjoyed our dinners and appreciated his friend’s referral. He tried his best to give us a discount, but we wouldn’t take it, as it wouldn’t have been fair to his restaurant and staff. The next time we’re in the Midland area, we’ll definitely...

My family of 7 dines out often. We are always up for trying new places & wouldn’t hesitate to travel distances for good food. Unfortunately this place missed the mark. The service was quick & the server was lovely. We even felt bad complaining to our server, that my husband apologized for complaining to her. The food is mediocre. The 3 major issues we had while dining here were: The potlight above my daughter’s head kept dripping fluid down on her. She was wiping ?water off her shoulder every 5 minutes. She joked and said “It’s like I’m eating at a rainforest cafe!” There was no diaper change table in the washrooms so my husband had to walk back to our car, parked by the church and circle k, mid meal to change our 7 month old’s diaper. My son ordered a poutine and after eating 3 or 4 fries he found a dead fly cooked into his french fry between the melted cheese & gravy. My son gasped in horror and felt like crying. When my husband showed our server, she asked my son if he would like anything else but my son replied that he had lost his appetite. The server took the poutine off the bill. My son returned home for the first time that night with an empty stomach. As we all left the restaurant, my family was in agreement that this was our worst dining experience ever and that we would not return to this...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **Pier 21 - An Unforgettable Anniversary Experience!** We recently celebrated our first wedding anniversary at **Pier 21**, and it was nothing short of amazing! Our night was made so special by the fun-loving and attentive **Vanessa**, who was our main server and gave us her full attention all evening. Later, we were also warmly welcomed by the manager, **Megan**, which added an extra personal touch to the night. The food was spectacular! We had the **pickerel** and **chicken souvlaki** as our mains, and both were perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The kitchen didn’t hold back—especially on the feta cheese in the salads, which were generous and flavorful. The attention to detail was impressive, from the perfectly hot plates to the *creme brulee*, which was silky smooth and absolutely divine. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we felt so well taken care of the entire night. This was truly the perfect spot to celebrate our first year of love together, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you, Pier 21, for making our evening unforgettable!

Awesome food with a historic setting! My wife and I came here for lunch and we weren't disappointed! Pier 21 is a national historic site in Halifax, which was a gateway for thousands of immigrants coming to Canada. I believe the owner's family arrived in Canada at Pier 21, and this restaurant is a tribute to that legacy. The restaurant is very cozy and is also a museum to Pier 21. The service was very friendly and prompt. With regards to the food, what we ate was awesome! I ordered their Canadian Maple Bacon burger with deep fried pickles, both were cooked to perfection! My wife had their Beef Dip sandwich, which was also very tasty. They also have a bar and make their own wine, which comes from Niagara. This restaurant is conveniently located on Main St. I'll definitely be coming back.

The 1 star is for the server who did her very best. The restaurant has an unappealing ‘barn’ smell that might be an air freshener and if that’s the case, it needs to go. There is no internet service in the restaurant. Sunday’s menu offers prime rib, and I ordered medium-rare. The cut I was served was so sinewy and over cooked that I couldn’t cut it. It seemed as though it was microwaved and the whole mess smothered in gelatinous, canned gravy. Nothing about this meal was fresh or appetizing. I returned the meal and the server apologized saying the other couple in the restaurant also complained about the beef. She took the drink off my bill.
