I’m sharing my experience from a recent visit to this DQ location—not to defame anyone, but simply to speak honestly as a loyal customer and former DQ employee who understands how things usually work.
When I arrived, I was greeted by a staff member named Pooja (as indicated on my receipt). Unfortunately, the interaction didn’t feel very welcoming. Despite my sister and I approaching her politely and with a smile, she appeared to have an attitude right from the start.
One of the items I wanted to order was a Small Pepsi Freeze using the DQ app reward. I explained that I prefer it unblended—as a float—since that’s how I’ve always received it in other locations like Princeton, Kamloops, and Kelowna. The staff at those stores have always understood that the Freeze and the Float differ slightly in preparation.
However, when I politely requested the unblended version, Pooja told me the Float “probably” costs more, implying she couldn’t do it. I reminded her again before she rang it in, saying, “Just don’t blend it, please. Thank you.” At that point, she noticeably rolled her eyes, which my sister witnessed as well.
Despite my request, the drink was blended. When I brought it up and reiterated that I had asked for it not to be blended, she insisted on the price difference again. I asked if we could check the price difference together, and again she rolled her eyes. As it turned out, the Float was actually less expensive than the Freeze, confirming what I had said earlier.
When I asked if she could please make the Float instead, her response was, “Well, I can’t give it to you because I just made you one.” Even though what she made was not what I had asked for.
I also ordered a Chicken Strip Basket, and I was disappointed with that as well. The chicken strips were really small and thin, and they weren’t even hot when I got them. For the price, I expected better quality and temperature.
I understand that anyone can have a bad day, but customer service is about treating people with respect regardless of personal circumstances. Rolling eyes, dismissing polite requests, and refusing to correct an order isn’t acceptable behavior. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and helps improve the customer experience at...
Read moreHorrible customer service from beginning to end. Was being ignored for window orders, while my order was being taken. I had asked to dine in. Was handed a bag of food with no words exchanged from the staff member. When my wife approached the counter asking for the rest of the order, she was told everything was in the bag. I then approached the counter in a not so friendly way. Explaining I wanted what I paid for. The manager called me a liar and said I had all my food. Even came to our table and checked over every item. Then to make up for their mistake they brought me my missing burger. And said there was a wait for our ice cream. Then I asked about my other drinks and was again told I already had them. When I received my drinks and blizzards. They were still missing 2 chocolate milks from the order. When asked about the chocolate milks. They replied you only said you were missing drinks.(last time I checked chocolate milk was a drink) I would never recommend coming to this location. As the staff are entitled, have no customer service skills. And refuse to admit to mistakes. I had even tipped the cashier as I recognized she was training and they were busy. But when your repeatedly ignored and after that called a liar, you tend to be less tolerant...
Read moreYou know you are dealing with cheap owners when the cones are so skimpy the ice cream is straight up skinny on the cone. Next time intend to say something as that is a pathetic way for an icecream store like Dairy Queen to make a few extra cents especially when ice cream is their game. That’s the problem with franchises when companies don’t hold them to standards like they used to. But you notice this where the east indians are buying out all the fast food stores now like the DQ’s, A&W’s, Tim Hortons, etc. Sad to see these Canadian heritages being taken over as these people when they start buying into them they assimilate them all and start cheapening up wherever possible and its never the same. Disappointing experience as was even noted by...
