Been to this location twice. Showing up both times just as they open. Being the first customers of both days. First time was beginning of september 2024. We decided to try this place out for our anniversary. We had to write our own orders in on a piece of paper, both times we came here. There is no waitress staff. They had a food inspection happening as we were waiting for our food. Besides there being spiders under the bar area, and there pop fridge temp being too warm, it seemed like the inspection went fine.Our second time ordering, i noticed rice and fish eggs on the menu that was given to us. I said to the male owner that the menu is dirty, and he verbally disagreed and told me its not dirty its just rice. I said having old food on the menus is dirty, and rice is food. Both the old lady and man who run the place are working with food, neither are wearing hair nets. I watched the old lady scratch her head and not wash hands, and just went back to making sushi. The atmosphere is something ill never come back to... they play inapproperate cartoons on a tv (both times ive been here) it is very loud and consisists of cartoons showing people blowing farts with lighters, people choking and such. While writing this review, the old lady did infact put a hair net on, wash her hands and change the cartoons to a peaceful japeneess water stream. Much more approperiate for a restaurant. The food is good minus my partner finding a bone in his pho. And as we were ordering the kitchen had a loud disagreement about my mix tempera #25 which i sure the male owner wrote #36 instead. Which consisted of only veg tempura, as i wanted shrimp as well. Both times with my sushi came ginger and wasbi. The ginger has been foul both times. I ordered all you can eat the first time, and it was pretty good minus the ginger being bad. This time i ordered Sushi box B and some of my fish as shown in pictures is discolored. The ginger is dry and tastes of mold. My tempera which wasnt the one i ordered, you could tell that there deepfrier is dirty and left a unwanted flavour on the yams and brocolli. The male owner forgot my miso soup which was delievered to me only a few minutes before we were ready to go and were already put off of the meal. Owners seemed nice enough. When i over ordered on the all you can eat, the male owner kindly explained that there was no way i could eat that much and he didnt want to have to charge me for the take home. Which was much appresiate. I dont think we will ever go back to this restaurant as theres another pho place next door with a broth more flavourful and my partner doesnt eat sushi. My partner felt like the older man was nice enough on the other hand i felt it very difficult to tell the male owner something was wrong and not have it come off as, im making issues as a customer instead of noticing something not right, wrong or off-putting. I really hope this restaurant improves there cleanliness and atomphsphere issues. And maybe downsizing the menu would help stop food waste as they served me bad fish. Read moreWe came here for dinner tonight. At almost $40 per person, the food was of embarrassingly poor quality. I’d say it was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. After turning in our order we received our first delivery from their robot. Shrimp tempura was cold and old, the soup dumplings were cold, hard and had no soup in them and the BBQ pork buns were cold. This food was obviously pre-made and waiting. We also got 2 sushi rolls. Then a table who were clearly friends with the owner came in. She came out to give them all hugs with rice and avocado covered hands. Then went back to making sushi with those same dirty hands. After this, our table was forgotten. We had to wait for the rest of our order until the table of friends had all of their food. Once we finally did start getting food again we got chicken skewers and Gochujang wings. The wings were coated in what looked and tasted like sweet Chili sauce and the chicken skewers were what looked like a boiled chicken thigh that was cut in half after it was cooked and covered in brown goo sauce. Both were cold. We sent it back. The owner came out to talk to the table in front of us due to a complaint of spoiled fish. She again had hands covered in rice and other food. Read moreWe are sushi lovers and we have tried a ton of sushi restaurants. We moved up here from the city of Kitchener. The menu had many different items that aren’t consistent with a Japanese menu. There are Chinese dish options as well for example. We enjoyed most of the dishes and sauces except for the shrimp which still had the shells on them and are covered in a messy sauce. The shells were so hard to remove. We gave up on them. We would come back however the lady there would not stop reprimanding this poor guy who was trying his best. She was yelling at him constantly which was making the customers very uncomfortable including my kids. I think he should look for a new job because it appeared that she truly had it in for him. In the future I recommend dealing with your staff in a more respectful manner when you are in front of your customers. The man was also claiming to be a chef.
