The level of customer service has greatly declined since the store first opened. I live down the street and go to Healthy Planet about 1-2 times a week. I have found that the evening staff don't ask if I need help, can be hard to find, are short with me when I ask a question, and often give the impression that they do not want to be disturbed. I've also seen the evening staff be rude to customers.
Tonight, I had another not so great experience at the store so I thought I'd leve a review.
I accidentailly purchased cinnamon sticks last night instead of cinnamon powder. The packaging is the same. I did not realize the mistake I made until this morning. Unfortunately, I threw out my receipt when I got home last night. The recycling was picked up this morning so I could not retrieve the receipt.
I popped into the store tonight hoping to do an exchange. The tall, young male at the cash register was in his own world. When he finally acknowledged me, I explained my situation. He told me that I would have to come back tomorrow to speak to the Manager. I told him I don't have time and would like to speak to someone tonight. He called another employee to come and assist me. I explained my situation and the clerk said he couldn't help me because he would have to go through all the receipts from the day before. I just wanted to do an exchange, not a refund. I left the store feeling rather disappointed. I shop there all the time. Healthy Planet seems to have a an updated register but looks can be deceiving. Read morea couple of months ago I went into this location. Walking in I happened to miss the sign stating to use a basket as opposed to your own reusable bags. I began shopping by placing a few items into my bag until a middle aged woman with shoulder length blondish hair came up to me and loudly stated I had been flagged by security for shop lifting in front of every other customer meaning everyone turned to stare at me for this entire interaction. I was taken aback and apologized profusely as i’m a frequent customer and a member there. Furthermore I have honestly never stolen a thing in my life. She rudely said that I never should have used my own bag. I told her I was extremely sorry and that I had missed the sign (I was looking at my phone for a message as my grandfather had passed that morning so I was a bit preoccupied). She proceeded to walk me up to the front repeatedly saying I had to use the basket. I transferred everything to a basket and even offered to give her my reusable bag to keep up front which she refused and proceeded to accuse my of hiding a lip balm in the bag stating in a very rude manner “they’ll check the cameras and get you if your stealing”. I was so shocked by this treatment I started to tear up and quickly got what I needed and left. Read moreI've gone in there maybe six times in hopes of finding what I need but I don't find it. I looked up Healthy Planet online this time around and found the product I wanted and assumed it would be in the store but it wasn't. I then asked a store employee about ordering it but they said the best thing to was order it myself. The problem is, it costs $7.50 for shipping. There is another health food store that if they don't have it in the store, they will order it for you and no extra costs (shipping etc) Also at this other store, if you have questions about any supplements, they have someone that knows what they are talking about.
