Americanized Italien Pizza place. The pizzas are good but definitely not like in Italy (thick crust, too much cheese). I ordered fettuccine Alfredo pasta, which came cold and the pasta and sauce didn't taste like anything. We sent it back and they took it off the bill. We ordered "Kids mini Pizzas" for $10.95 That Kid Pizza was smaller than a regular pizza slice! It was only ONE pizza tiny pizza, although the menu says "pizzas", aka more than one. For just $2 more we got a small 10" pizza that was triple the size! Is that how you treat families?!

I'd walked by this restaurant for the last 3 years without having been in. When I did go in for the first time, I was pleased to see the welcoming decor and the warm people. The food was fantastic and they try to accomodate your needs very well. The garlic bread was tender and soft with just the right amount of cheese and seasoning. The lasagne and Ravioli where also absolutely worth every penny. All flavours perfectly balanced. Definitely go on your payday. Highly recommended.

The ladies discussing at the next table: "What are you having?" "Yes." I agree. We decided on garlic bread with cheese, fettuccine alfredo, and pizza. And there's the free bread to start! Good portions, tastes delicious, fresh ingredients, cute folksy decor, very reasonable prices, and friendly staff. Customers were constantly coming in for take out and the restaurant was filling up too. Clearly a local favourite for good reason.

tl;dr - It would be overpriced for decent food, and the food ended up being just bad. I was very excited about this meal, and ended up heartbroken at how much money I wasted here. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Long version - I ordered from the Peterborough Take-Out menu just after 8pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. I called in an order consisting of a dozen honey garlic wings with a side of veggies and dip, a large greek salad, and spaghetti with homemade meat sauce.

The wings were not good. Nice flavour, and decent meat texture (not dry or slimy), however the wings were so gristly that I was unable to enjoy 2/3 of each wing, which is highly disappointing considering the fact that they were so overpriced to begin with. The greek salad was good, though. Lots of feta, lots of dressing.

The spaghetti sauce was nothing like traditional Italian sauce, which would be fine if it was an enjoyable westernized Italian "guilty pleasure" style sauce, but it ended up being neither of those. The sauce was just bad. There was way too much parsley, and hints of cinnamon? Completely inappropriate for spaghetti sauce, and definitely missed the mark that I’m assuming they were going for. The spaghetti itself was overcooked. Nothing about this dish was enjoyable.

I ended up eating about $20 worth of food that I paid $47.30 for. As a college student looking to treat myself with a good meal, I am deeply disappointed at the lack of quality in this food - especially in the pasta, which is supposed to be the hallmark of this restaurant!

The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is nice. The woman who took my order on the phone was cold and not even remotely friendly, but was efficient and made no mistakes with the order. The woman who I spoke with when picking up the order was very warm...

DELICIOUS. Period, hands down, so delicious.

We ordered Sunday special - XL pizza with 3 toppings. The crust was that perfect balance of crisp exterior and pillowy soft interior. Plentiful toppings, well placed, and perfectly cut pieces. Flavourful pizza sauce and perfectly stringy cheese. My 6 year old son and 35 year old husband couldn't be bigger fans!

In addition - price. Amazing. The daily special is completely worth is, and we still took home 5 pieces for the next day. We also got fresh, French bread with butter and olive oil / balsamic dip. Yum!

Third, the restaurant is that perfect balance of romantic casual, where you can take a first date, anniversary, or small party. I commented to my husband that this would be an ideal place for an anniversary party for up to 40 people, possibly 50 if the patio can be incorporated.

Fourth - clean. I'm observant, and tables, menus, walls, fixtures, bathroom, floors were very clean.

Fifth, the wait staff and the cooks were clearly well trained, creating delicious food and a lovely experience in a timely manner.

Finally - it was busy in the seated area and for take out, with a regular stream of customers picking up pizza and pasta orders. This is a testament to its popularity with a regular crowd. I'm so sad we haven't come here before (we're new to Peterborough), but we will certainly be back. With our 10 year anniversary around the corner... who knows?

thank you Jim's - it's clear why you've been in...

BEWARE THE ONLINE MENU PRICING! Ordered take away for pickup as I live across the street. 2 pizzas which we supposed to be a special that night (a whopping savings of $0.85 I later realized), and a large Caeser salad which apparently had gone up in price $3.00 in the real world but not on their online menu. Not to be a stickler but I had hoped to at least get a $3.00 refund for making them aware of the discrepancy of their two menus. All I received were blank stares from the ill-trained staff. Either they deal with this problem on a regular basis, or haven't properly trained their staff how to deal with refunds and quality issues, since the one server disappeared into the kitchen never to be seen again. A second server basically ignored me for approximately 10 minutes and then still felt that I was undeserving of getting a small refund. Food: 2/10 ceaser salad not enough dressing, pizza too pricy Service: 0/10 Insulting Customers: 10/10

Unable to rate zero stars, so I have to give one. What should have been a minor issue ballooned into a 20 minute hassle and I was left feeling unappreciated as a customer. I felt I was doing them a service by pointing out a pricing issue they may not have realized, and wound up being treated like a menace. Also, I have had their lasagna and it is terrible. Cold, bland, and expensive for what you get. Do yourselves a favour and try Night Kitchen Pizza...
