MARCH 12, 2016 ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET
ATT! They're advertising another buffet again!
This place is not a THAI restaurant! At least not what was reflected in their menu choice for their attempt at a buffet. They presented a lot of food that was Indian, not THAI. Like spring rolls done up like Indian samosas with potato in them? Have you ever had a spring roll with potato in it? Their website reflects peanut satay, salad and a shrimp dish that reflects the typical light and interesting tastes of the typical THAI cuisine. Instead they served up onion rings? Indian curry made with Garam Masala and Rasgulla- which is some kind indian delicacy fried milk balls? This restaurant attempted to draw a crowd by offering a buffet to fill their seats. Great concept! Bad execution. They should have served up their best THAI cuisine so that people would talk and tell their friends how great it was. Not cheap out and try to save money by serving up their cheapest meals. What a disappointment! I initially thought they should change their name to Village of India, but there's another restaurant up the street called Curry Village Indian Restaurant and Taste of India the other way down the street so I guess they were stuck for originality. Decide are you an Indian or a THAI restaurant and adjust your menu...
Read moreWhen you walk in on a Friday night at 6:40pm and there is no else in the restaurant that was a red flag. We had read reviews and thought we would give it a chance anyways. Another red flag was while reading the menu there was no eggplant dishes. Most good thai restaurants have eggplant dishes. Another red flag - the menu offered Jerk Chicken - Huh? from Jamaica? For a thai restaurant that is strange. We ordered the Cold rolls to start and they were gross. The vegetables looked old and were marinated in something - probably trying to hide the fact they weren't using fresh vegetables. I ordered the red curry and asked for a side of coconut rice which they replied they didn't have any. What thai restaurant doesn't offer coconut rice? The red curry wasn't the red curry I am used to and I think it was missing coconut milk. It just tasted ok. My spouses dish, Chaing Mai was also just ok - meat was like leather. What was really disappointing was the Thai Fried Rice. Most fried rice is made with sesame oil. This was made with sweet and sour sauce, so sticky and too sweet -just odd tasting. Not fried rice tasting at all. Overall below average and...
Read moreI ordered the butter chicken, which I have had many times here in the past (but it's been probably a year). It was absolutely awful. I have never been so disappointed from this place. It looks like their menu changed. The butter chicken used to have a nice creamy sauce and baby bok choi and other vegetables in the sauce with the chicken and apples, now it just has chicken and apples in a very watery, flavourless soup. I asked if it still had a salad with it and the lady said no, so I ordered a side garden salad. What they sent me for $32!!! was rice, a salad with tofu on it (which I didn't ask for tofu), and the awful butter chicken mess. DId the owners change and that's why the menu and food changed? Very, very disappointed. On top of that the delivery guy didn't think they charged for delivery. I said that I better not get charged for delivery on top of $32 and a tip. So I'll be...
