Tahini's — Restaurant in Pickering

September 23, 2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was thrilled to finally visit Tahini's in person, and I must say, it perfectly matched the vivid description my partner had given me. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and provided helpful menu suggestions that enhanced our dining experience. The food was not only skillfully prepared but also incredibly flavorful.

For our dining choice, we selected to dine in. One small recommendation I'd offer is to ensure that the tables receive a thorough wipe-down, as it was a bit challenging to find a clean, available spot to sit. In addition to our on-site dining experience, we ordered a third meal to-go for my son, who also savored every bite.

September 19, 2023 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My partner surprised me with a delightful dinner from Tahini's. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to accompany him to place the order, but I've heard nothing but wonderful things about the ordering experience. As for the dish itself, I must admit it was incredibly delicious. I was genuinely impressed by the wide range of options they offer. The portion size exceeded my expectations, leaving me with plenty of leftovers to enjoy. I'm eagerly looking forward to visiting the restaurant in person to explore more of their delectable offerings. The picnic dinner at the park couldn't be any...

There are a couple of shawarma restaurants in the Pickering area (Osmows, Afghan Kabab & Shawarma) - but more is always a good thing. So Tahini is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood.

As always, we ordered a mix of things:

Regular Habibi Bowl - Chicken shawarma on rice with pita chips Regular Jamaican Jerk Bowl - Jerk chicken shawarma on a rice with pineapples, onions and tomatoes. The chicken was very well flavoured as were the onions. The rice tasted very nice too Regular Chicken Shawarma Bowl - Chicken shawarma on rice Chicken Shawarma Poutine - Poutine topped with chicken shawarma. The gravy was awesome and the shawarma topping was good. The cheese could have been more generous but all in all, this was a big hit Dozen Falafel - with a tahini dipping sauce. The star of the entire meal. I've never had falafel that was this fluffy and crispy.

There are just a few small tables for a sit-down meal. The service was very polite and friendly. Based on our experiences with hot sauce from The Halal Guys, we opted for a medium spice level. However, the medium level hot sauce was disappointing in flavour & lacked any sort of bite. Perhaps going in for hot might the way to go in the future.

Visited location as I noticed it was new and reviews were good. After paying for my order, it took over 30 mins for them to make my order.

I counted only 6 people ahead of me. There is no organization with how they are making food. There was two people that came in and ordered wraps a few mins after me and their order was bumped and made before mine. I also noticed another couple that was there before me get upset about this as they were waiting longer then me.

One of the ladies noticed this couple was upset and offered them a bag of “samosas”. She took the bag and opened it and noticed it was fries and gave it back. This same greasy bag of fries was then given back to me when my order was finally ready. I asked for fresh fries that has not been touched by others and sitting for some time.

There was only one young guy working that looked like he knew what he was doing. I also noticed the older man wipe his nose with his gloves on while standing by the shawarma grill.

At this point I was over waiting and did not even want to try the food anymore. I will...
