Akasaka in Pitt Meadows offers a delightful Japanese dining experience where presentation and ambiance truly stand out. The restaurant is located in a small, cozy house with a fireplace, providing a very friendly and homely atmosphere. With only 4 to 5 tables, it feels intimate and personal, almost as if you're dining in someone's home. It's assumed that the top floor is residential, which adds to the unique charm of the place.
The presentation of the dishes at Akasaka is nothing short of impressive. Each plate is a work of art, meticulously arranged to please both the eyes and the palate. The vibrant colors and thoughtful garnishes enhance the overall dining experience, making each dish as visually appealing as it is delicious.
The quality of the food at Akasaka matches the high standards set by the restaurant’s ambiance and presentation. The flavors are authentic and fresh, providing a true taste of Japan. However, it’s worth noting that the pricing here is relatively high compared to its contemporaries. Despite this, they do offer a decent lunch special, which provides good value and allows diners to enjoy their exquisite cuisine at a more affordable price.

Read moreI've heard about this place and finally decided to try it. It's in an old heritage home which I found a little weird. The setting just didn't seem to fit Japanese cuisine, both outside and in. But I tried to stay open-minded. The one and only staff member I saw during my visit was a waitress. It's the first time I have ever been served by a non-Asian server in a sushi restaurant which was also weird. Not bad, just different.
The menu had a decent variety... not quite what I would call "contemporary" or "modern" sushi, but not completely old school either. Lots of what I would consider to be standard fare, but also some rolls that were unique. I settled on the Tiger Roll, which turned out to be really good. The only drawback with it was that it was cut really unevenly. Some pieces were so thin they fell apart as soon as I picked them up. Others were so thick I had to eat them in three or four bites. Still very tasty though. Also had ebi sunomono which I must say had a base that distinct from any other sunomono I've had elsewhere. Very good and a refreshing but not overwhelming change. The decor and setting didn't catch me but the food did. I would eat here again. (Plus, for Pokemon Go players, it has a Pokestop, plus a couple more within...
Read moreWent here just tonight for my youngest daughter's birthday. The food was excellent. Absolutely everything was delicious from the sashimi to the teriyaki to the tempura. We pretty much had almost everything on the menu and it was superb. The best part of it all was the staff. They were extremely friendly and caring. When they found out it was her birthday, they went all out and sang to her, had birthday music playing, took pictures with her and even brought her a little cake and ice cream for both of my daughters. They all made this day and this meal very special for her. I would highly recommend supporting this business and enjoying their wonderful food and service. We also sat on the patio which was private and peaceful even though it is just steps from Harris Road. Thank...
