The Other Guys Pizza and pasta — Restaurant in Pitt Meadows

All across the land of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, the search for good pizza was scarce. The people cried out for a good pie and the gods responded with mid options. One day, a voice echoed from the distance, “Try The Other Guys!”

In all seriousness I was skeptical at first. As a rule of thumb if a pizza joint has a lot of specialty pizzas like smoked meats, and other non-traditional options, it’s a sign to stay away from them because they’re compensating for their lack of skill towards the classics. This couldn’t be further from the case here at The Other Guys. Gave their Philly Cheese Steak a try and I also threw in a Mediterranean. The Philly was incredible, steak was tender, not dry, the caramelized onions held their flavour and the cheese sauce was potent but not too unwelcoming or unfamiliar. The Mediterranean was a walk in the garden. All the veggies were incredibly fresh. Definitely a crowd pleaser for those who don’t want something as heavy.

The first pizza I got from them was just a plain cheese pizza. It was clearly left in the salamander / oven way, way too long as the cheese was hard as a rock and brown instead of yellow. It didn't taste terrible but the appearance really turned me off of my own dinner.

I decided to give them another try. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and was shocked to receive a pizza with "chunks" of pepperoni on it. Now maybe I didn't read the menu or something, perhaps it was in the menu where it explained my pepperoni would be "chunked" and not sliced, but regardless it was not made clear to me that this is the product I would be getting, and I should be able to order a plain old pepperoni pizza without looking at a menu and also without getting any weird surprises.

The chunks of pepperoni wouldn't have been bad but the reason I'm complaining is that the meat was entirely tasteless. So you are just eating this cheese pizza and every now and then you get a huge chunks of tasteless meat in your mouth.

We've been enjoying their pizza for the past three years & just love it! We've tried others in between, but always come back to The Other Guys. Recently tried their Chicago style pizza, which has a slightly thicker crust & loaded with more "awesomeness", exactly as described by the server. It was absolutely excellent! Even enjoyed the leftovers cold the next day. The service is always friendly and quick. Thanks Guys!! for being there & creating awesome pizza!!
