Absolutely Disrespectful and Racist Experience â Avoid This Place at All Costs!
I had the worst dining experience of my life at Three Amigos of this location in Montreal, and I strongly urge everyone, especially those who are vegetarian or have religious dietary restrictions, to stay far away from this restaurant!
My friends and I, all of whom are strictly vegetarian due to our religious beliefs, went to this place expecting a nice meal. One of my friends is pregnant, and we were looking forward to a good time. We specifically ordered vegetarian dishes, making it absolutely clear that we do not eat meat. However, to our absolute shock and disgust, the restaurant served us food containing chicken.
When we realized what had happened, we were horrified. Imagine being a lifelong vegetarian, following your faith and beliefs, only to be served meat due to the restaurantâs sheer negligence. This was not just a mistakeâit was a serious offense against our religious values.
We immediately complained to the owner, who is also the manager, expecting at least an apology. Instead, he showed no real remorse and did not even acknowledge the gravity of their mistake. The restaurant remade our order, but they still charged us for the meat dishâwhich is completely unacceptable! Why should we have to pay for their mistake, especially when it goes against our religious beliefs?
To make things worse, their pathetic way of "compensating" us was offering a cheap churroâas if that could make up for the fact that they disrespected our faith, ruined our meal, and deeply hurt us. When I asked for a discount instead of the churro (which we didnât even care for), the owner got angry at us! Instead of showing basic human decency, he treated us with disrespect and arrogance.
The way we were treated felt like pure racism. We were not just ignored, but looked down upon for standing up for our beliefs. A decent restaurant would have apologized sincerely, taken full responsibility, and not charged us for the meat meal they mistakenly served. Instead, the owner made us feel like we were at fault for asking to be treated fairly. His behavior was disgusting, rude, and completely unprofessional.
This restaurant is not only incompetent but also culturally and religiously insensitive. If you have any dietary restrictions, DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. They donât care about their customers, they donât take responsibility for their mistakes, and they have zero respect for religious values.
We left feeling violated, disrespected, and discriminated against. This is not how you treat customers, especially when your staff makes a mistake of this magnitude. I will never return to this place and will make sure to warn as many people as possible about the awful treatment we received.
Three Amigos should be ashamed of how they treat people. If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid this place...
Read moreI am part of the 3 Amigos birthday club and received an email reminding me to come by on my birthday. The fine print said order 25$ of food and you get a 12$ discount, a piece of cake and a hat. I made a reservation for one a few hours before and had it confirmed.
Upon arrival there was no one there to receive or ask if I had a reservation. Eventually I ended up at the bar which was OK, it really sticky and I could tell it hadn't been cleaned in a while. The bartender seemed nice but he didn't want to take my order so I ended up with a waiter who was servicing the other side of the restaurant. Had I known the bartender would be leaving early I would have just sat at a regular table.
I ordered the Tortilla Soup which I must say was better than I expected it to be. As for the Chicken Enchiladas the salad, rice and beans were fine. The chicken though was expired. I know because one time I cooked some expired chicken at home and it tasted the exact same. Everything else in the dish tasted fine so I just ate around the chicken.
The birthday cake was nice and they came out with the song on, plus a sizzler which was fun and I was able to share that experience with my distant family via live video call. That was a nice touch and made the experience better. There were no hats as mentioned in the advertisement.
At the end somehow the bill came up to 20.64 so I was charged for the wrong plate on top of that. Instead of just doing the proper discount they removed the 9.95 before tax soup from the bill and then charged 17.95 before tax for the Chicken Enchiladas which should have been 15.95. I made sure to bring that up and in the end at least they gave me back 2$ in cash so that was appreciated.
Anyways overall too much of a hassle for a birthday, and not worth the experience or expense. Lack of proper service, proper adhering to advertisement standards, slow service, just overall not a great experience. It did seem like some other tables were having a good time though and I was impressed with the soup so I'll give it 5 stars while the Chicken Enchiladas get 1 star.
As someone that has spent a lot of time in Mexico I just was not impressed. Lack of genuine service, improper billing.. and expired chicken leave me not wanting to come back. I have had better street food in Mexico City than I had at this 3 Amigos. I didn't have high expectations to begin with so not sure what to say... I would be willing to try a different plate in the future though if I...

A very disappointing experience, unfortunately. My husband and I went to 3Amigos â west Island. weâve been to many branches and always had a good time. However, this was our first time visiting this particular location, and it will definitely be the last.
We ordered one entrĂ©e (a beef fajita for myself) and a piña colada for my husband, as he wasnât hungry at the time. We were told by our server â whose name I unfortunately donât know, but he seemed to be from India country â that we were not allowed to share food because of the Wednesday special pricing. He said it was âagainst the restaurantâs policyâ to share food on discount days, and that we would have to pay extra if we wanted to do so.
I was honestly shocked. We were paying for the meal â what right does a restaurant have to tell a couple they canât share a dish they paid for? and if he wanted to taste a bite, it shouldnât be a problem. But the server insisted that even tasting was not allowed unless we paid extra.
Eventually, after I expressed how absurd this was, he brought the food and said, âIâm making an exception because I like your husband â he seems like a nice guy.â This was extremely unprofessional and inappropriate. Making such personal comments and offering to âbend the rulesâ based on appearance or personal preference is not acceptable behavior for a restaurant employee.
We are a loyal customer of 3amigos, and if you check my history, youâll see how often we visit. But this experience left me truly upset. Imagine a mother going out with her child â are you telling me sheâs not allowed to share her food with her own kid unless she pays extra? Thatâs just unreasonable and disrespectful.
Policies that restrict food sharing, especially under the excuse of special pricing, are not only unfriendly but also disrespectful to customersâ privacy and choices. We wonât be returning to this branch, and I strongly advise others to avoid it â especially on Wednesdays â unless theyâre okay with being policed over how they eat their own food.
To make matters worse, although I clearly asked for my beef to be cooked medium medium and the vegetables to not be burned, the beef was nearly raw and the vegetables were charred. The serverâs attitude throughout was far from polite...
