The aesthetic? Amazing - everything else? - horrific.
This place is genuinely one of the most beautiful cafés I have been in- and it’s in a mall. Needless to say I was very excited. It turned out to be one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had at a restaurant.
Here’s the list. -they were out of orange juice at 11am on a Monday- as well as out of bacon, (which they failed to mention) out of milk for the coffee, and the sad part is the list goes on and on there were many key ingredients that they didn’t have stocked.
-We waited over 20 minutes for two beverages (sea breeze and the Hawaii sangria)
Myself and a friend ordered 2 eggs Benedict’s, I got the tommy Benedict and he got the truffle Benedict, he had received a traditional Benedict and I for some reason received mine on a bagel in? When brought up I was told that all 3 forms of Benedict’s came on bagels with a heavy attitude.
-my sister had ordered a BLTC and received proceeded ham instead of bacon (hence the lack of communication on the servers part) she wasn’t able to eat the meal due to being on a very restricted diet due to breastfeeding.
-for it being a new restaurant the bathrooms are poorly taken care of, which is a big indicator that management is severely lacking.
there were so many staff members on, and there was SUCH a lack of service. Absolutely nobody seemed happy to work there.
It had gotten to the point where I was pushed to start taking notes in my phone just to leave this review. The space is amazing, they just need to make the staff and management up to par.
The best part? The bill was over 80$ for two drinks...
Read moreHi, I’ve had an unfortunate experience at the Fairview location. It appears the cafe staff do not follow the opening hours schedule. This has occurred more times than once but especially bizarre on May 13th, 2022. That being said, I had planned to go grab a coffee and snack around 5pm on a Friday. There was a group of ladies eating tapas inside which made me believe it would be open for sitting. As I entered the cafe hoping to get seated, I was told by staff that they are currently closed. I asked her what time they closed today and it took her a moment to answer me. She followed by pulling out her phone and seeing it was 5pm, told me they had just closed the kitchen. That made me confused since the opening hours online say they close at 9. I was confused especially since there was that group of ladies still eating. I left the cafe empty handed and decided to shop inside the mall for an hour and a half. While leaving, I walked past the cafe and noticed that the ladies were still sitting, chatting and eating. This made me very upset and made it feel as if the staff did not want to serve me despite me being polite and understanding and despite the staff closing shop way before the closing time. I believe this was truly unfair treatment in their part and feel that someone in power must talk to the staff at this location. I hope this can be resolved because I do really enjoy the cafe at the...
Read moreI visited 2 adults, 2 kids. There were only 2 other tables seated and quite a few servers. Someone say us, someone else took our drink order, someone else brought the coffees, the finally, maybe one of the prior took our food order, but someone different brought it. I completely lost track. The kid’s french toast is so small, that I felt insulted. It was 1 piece of thin bread with 8 strawberries, 10 ultra thin banana slices, that were so thin they had stuck to the plate. My child couldn’t lift them off. I know this is a child’s price at $12, but usually child menu options are $6-10, and for this, it was not enough for a 4 year old who always eats 2 pieces of thick french toast.
Our other meals were nothing special but nicely presented. Very overpriced, $22 each. Eggs benny without meat on one single toast $22?! A bit absurd.
We were never asked if we wanted more coffee, the basic coffee was $3.50 anyway though so I guess that would gave added up quick. We waited a long time for the bill, I kept looking over but two of the girls were giggling over something on a phone. They were on the phone a long time.
Unfortunately we were not satisfied and 2 adults, 2 kids $100 for breakfast. Shameful really. The minimum tip option was 18% but of course I went less because who tips that in a place where I couldn’t tell you who my server was and overcharges all meals. No thanks....
