Freshii — Restaurant in Port Coquitlam

Aside from being very clean, prompt service and having delicious food I just had a terrible experience.

I ordered a Tex Mex burrito. I changed a few things to it as I have a dairy allergy. So took some stuff out and added others. I was very clear with my instructions, made it easy to understand and provided a friendly tone and humour. All the while the girl taking my order didn’t seem impressed. (This is something I get there often at other locations with no problem). When I left went to my car and had a bite I was in for a surprise. The man making it must have just showered the burrito in seratcha or hot sauce as my mouth was instantly on fire! I am a spice fan and have a pretty decent tollarance. I incorporate spice into a lot of my food so I know what’s hot and what’s just beyond hot and not editable!

I thought about it and since I was still in the parking lot I decided to go back in. I simply told them there must have been a mistake as I didn’t ask for extra spice in my burrito.

The girl looks at me confused and annoyed. The man that made it said: “ya I put seratcha on it, so?”

I said well I didn’t ask for it and I don’t know why you’d put that much. That’s just to much. All the while my moth is on fire!

He said: “you asked for it.” And I said no I didn’t. Regauedless though why would you put that much on? He said:

“This is how we make it here lady”

Anyways it was re made for me. I don’t even know if it is correct as I haven’t eaten it yet. 30 mins later my mouth is still on fire.

I tried to joke with the girl about the amount of seratcha he used and she was just not interested.

All in all they never apologized and made it seem as if it was somehow my fault. Who am I to come back in! They just made me feel stupid or crazy!

I hate that! So just had to voice this and warn against the man that’s making really insanely hot...

This is often the best Freshii - depending on the staff. They normally do an amazing job, and are consistently generous with their portions. They also wrap the kids' quesadillas very well, so they don't fall apart or drip out of the corners as kids eat them. The only reason for the loss of one star is one spectacularly bad experience: my vegetarian kid was given a chicken quesadilla instead of the cheese and tomato quesadilla I'd requested. I'd been nagging him to eat, but he was refusing. By the time I looked in the thing to see what the matter was, he'd eaten a few bites. He was so upset when he heard me complain to the staff that I'd given him chicken that it made him sick. After I got out of the bathroom with him, both the staff who'd been on duty had disappeared, as had the boyfriend of the one who'd taken my order, who'd been previously hanging out distracting the staff to the point of not paying attention to what the hell they were doing. Still, in general, I really liked this Freshii. It's really too bad my kid refuses to go there, any more, but I'm hoping I can convince him to just go and check out who's working, and then eat if it's one of the usual, longer-term staff. I'd still say they're the best Freshii in the Tri-cities, but watch your orders...

I for one do not understand why people like this place, or why they would choose to go here for say a burrito when there is an actual burrito place a couple doors down. The service was terrible. I had an online order that should have been ready for 5pm and the girl did not start making it until 5:20pm even with me standing there. It was not just her fault she was dealing with a massive cooperate order and working alone. There was also at least six people there just waiting to order who stood there 20 minutes(WHY!?) The food really is not good for the high price you pay. I also added meat in the daily burrito and when I finally got it 25 minutes late when most of my work break was already over, I discovered she had forgotten to put the meat in the burrito even though I paid to add chicken. Terrible experience

Management did make it right when I called in to complain and I got a free chicken burrito a different day but it still is not good quality food, service or environment. Personally I can't believe this...
