Here’s the thing. The food may taste great but after you see the behind the scenes behavior of the “boss”, unsure if he is the owner or not- it won’t matter how good the food is.

I have been in the food business for 13 years, and I honestly was shocked and disgusted by what happened.

I don’t know how this man justifies how he speaks to and treats his employees when things get stressful from several orders coning in at once, but honestly/ if he can’t handle success, perhaps he should fail and see if he can handle that better.

Requiring barely minimum wage workers to pay for mistakes out of their own pocket, and deliberately ignoring them giving verbal warnings to him like: “no soy sauce” on an in progress gluten free order, adding it any way saying the “gluten free” warning wasn’t on the “correct” part of the paper, requiring the workers to then PAY for the mistake that was intentionally made BY THE BOSS is nothing less than bullying.

This man should not be in charge of people, and I will NEVER be returning to his establishment:

Frankly; he doesn’t deserve to have a food business if he is going to mistreat the people...

The food is fabulous and the service is also amazing… I was very hungry and it was almost close to shutdown time and I reached just 30 mins before it closes as it took a while for me to figure a best place to eat at Port Hope. I was still served without any hesitation at patio outside and unfortunately the white rice was finished so the server insisted me to try the brown rice sushis and wow I really loved it even the sushis being in brown rice and since I was very accommodative, the miso soup was on the house and free to me ;)

Overall I must say this place has the excellent food and service and it is definitely my to go place whenever I visit Port...

Decided to try a new Sushi place with the kids (4) tonight. Called ahead to confirm availability. When we arrived the place was clean, and well organized. We ordered the small mixed party tray and the torched Salmon. The presentation of the food was unique and very appealing. The torched Salmon is a dish we have tried at many sushi restaurants and this torched salmon dish at Sugoi sushi is the best we have had thus far. The staff were very friendly and accommodating of allowing my youngest (who is a bit under the weather) to keep her own water bottle. This place will continue to have our business for many...

Stopped in on the way home from the Toronto area, and was the choice of chance as both my partner and I were hungry from the crazy GTA after holiday drive, and we still had a few more hours to go. I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised with our random choice and will keep in mind next time down out that way! Good quality food, some options for rolls that I haven't had before ( I enjoyed some of the names of the rolls, we had a good chuckle) and the rolls were really yummy and decently priced! Small complaint, some of the rolls were REALLY big, would make it difficult for most to eat it properly/eloquently
