Jimmy's Submarine & Dairy Delight — Restaurant in Portage la Prairie

I heard about "Jimmys" ... I've eaten and made a lot of burgers in this life, I eaten at a pile of these "small town restaurants" supposed to be so good and then they overcompensate with salt or novelty ingredients, sometimes they just make this over the top behemoth burger. I Finally tried Jimmy's. The banquet burger to be specific....

Beautiful, fresh soft bun, perfectly balanced amout of chili on top, like literally I did not lose a bite, as I chewed the burger I'd use my tongue and massage out a piece of the meat to get the flavor of that alone isolated, it was heaven, not over seasoned not over cooked, everything was balanced as if Thanos has made it with the Infinity Gauntlet himself. I mean this with the utmost sincerity and thanks, but that was the Best Burger I have ever eaten in my entire life. I'm 43, been all over to many restaurants. I will have a hard time ever passing Jimmy's again without a Banquet burger on my mind or likely in my hand, I will schedule my children's Dr's appointments in Winnipeg around Jimmy's hours of operation. My wife and I come here all the time, we have the pleasure of living so close its a nice little walk to pick up a chili fry, or a fat boy. The atmosphere gives me nostalgia which to me is a nice warming feeling, the plants across the roof inside are very well taken care of and add some nature is pretty cool. The counter lady (i am sorry bad with names) is a joy to talk to most times, even when people have bad days she has always professional. I would give it a 5 for food but sometimes the fat boy has a different seasoning, its not bad just not as good as...

The food was ok, quite disappointing from the other reviews posted. It was an oven inside the restaurant, people were using napkins to wipe the sweat off their brow. We didn’t have a complicated order, 2 burgers fries and onion rings and it easily took 20 minutes. We came out from Winning for a hockey tournament and we will be back tomorrow but will find somewhere else to spend our money. Very...
