Where Your Tastebuds Do the Sumo Throwdown (and Kendy Wins Every Time!) Attention, foodies! Attention, hungry warriors! I just had a dining experience at Shogun Japanese Steakhouse in Prince George that deserves its own victory lap. This place isn't just about tepanyaki tables and flaming onions (although, let me tell you, those onions get a standing ovation); it's about a culinary throwdown that will leave your taste buds begging for mercy (with a happy sigh). **Five Stars Don't Do It Justice:** This place needs a rating system involving exploding fireworks, showers of glitter, and maybe a conga line of satisfied customers. Every dish is a masterpiece, a symphony of flavor that will have you rethinking everything you thought you knew about Japanese cuisine. Seriously, I contemplated writing a haiku about the teriyaki chicken, it was that good. **Meet Kendy, the Teppanyaki Master:** Forget the hibachi hype, folks. Shogun's all about the teppanyaki, and at the helm of this sizzling spectacle is Kendy, the chef who could probably juggle shrimp and slice steak blindfolded (and probably still make it look better than anything you've ever cooked at home). His knife skills are sharper than a samurai sword, and his ability to cook up a feast is nothing short of magical. **Sake to Me! (Order the Sleeve):** Now, let's talk beverages. They have a sake selection that would make a geisha blush, but here's a tip: order the sake sleeve. It's like holding a tiny piece of Japan in your hand, and you can try them all without breaking the bank. Just don't wear white; sake spills happen, and nobody wants a wasabi-colored wardrobe malfunction. **Overall:** This place is a must-try for anyone who appreciates good food, good fun, and good knife skills (seriously, Kendy could give surgeons a run for their money). It's entertaining, it's delicious, and it's an experience you won't soon forget. Just be prepared to loosen your belt a notch (or two) and maybe take a nap afterwards – that food coma will hit you like a sumo wrestler's hug. Five stars out of five, with a gold medal for Kendy and a standing ovation for the entire meal. Itadakimasu! (That means "let's eat" in Japanese, and trust me, you'll be saying it too!)

Being from the states, I am not sure if this is normal or not, but we were sat almost immediately, took our orders, and then they just ninja vanished on our table for about 30 minutes. We finished our drinks, 2 people at our table went out to smoke TWICE before we started getting food. The portions to me were pretty sub par compared to many other teppanyaki houses I've been to. I really wish I could have cooked it myself, but here I am traveling. Once it was time for the check, the waiter got a little mouthy with one of the other people at the table. Was not a good look. Will never be back here.

Sushi ok seems like someone tried to do good. Sashimi still half frozen and crunchy (ice) didn't seem fresh and small portion for that price. The biggest problem was for me were the grills, only 2 out of 6 were used at the same time but restaurant was full of fried oil in the air and smell on our clothing was still there the next day. The problem seems obvious, none of grill exhausts were pulling air out and to make matters worse air supply didn't seem to work either. I understand if it is -10 C outside you may want to save on heating cost but not at cost of loosing customers. Or do you?

Experiance was cool. Hostess was efficient, kind and checked up on us a couple times. Chef was very friendly and made sure to address everyone around the table so everyone felt included. Very perceptive, he noticed I picked all the mushrooms off my plate and gave it to my friend and when he served me the next portion of the dish he removed all mushrooms from mine x) Small thing but very appreciated 🙏🏻 Food was good. I found the flavor of each part of the dish pleasent, not overwhelming and complementary of each other. This was the first teppanyaki restaurant I've gone to so I have nothing to compare it to, my experiance was nice, though. I enjoyed it :) It is communal seating so if you don't have a large enough party to take up the whole grill you will be sitting with strangers. We made a reservation online so there was no wait time for a table. There's lots of free parking outside to the side of the building as well as street parking. When you enter the building, walk straight ahead from the front doors and you'll run into...

Another teppanyaki. The food is decent but overpriced. The chefs performance is tacky bordering on cringeworthy, complete with strobe lights and bad juggling. The chefs at the table were friendly but the servers were rude and abrupt. We had to flag them down to order more drinks. We decided to order an assortment of menu items to share. Two people in my party ordered the two most expensive platters on the menu and I ordered 4 rolls. The server brought 2 small bowls of salad, rice and miso soup to my friends who orderedthe platters. When my friend asked if could have my own (since we were sharing) rice, salad and soup, she rudely informed us that they only came with with the platters and not the rolls I ordered. I informed her that I will pay for it. We ordered the most expensive items on the menu along with 2 of the most expensive bottle of wine and she was too cheap to comp us an extra salad and soup?! I do not recommend...
