This is an update. This coffee shop is still really awesome.
They're only a couple of negative points. One is at the washrooms are downstairs and this makes it impossible for anyone with mobility issues to use the washroom. Another is that the music is somewhat benign and rather too soft. The problem with soft benign music is that you tend to get a lot of people using the space as an office or a study space, which is quite different from a coffee shop, encouraging socialization .
Louder and more specific music like some vibrant Quebec music or anything transforms the place into a more social experience.

The clean lines of the design have a Scandinavian feel; with the seating including a combination of benches facing out to the street (largely filled by people making use of the wifi and tapping away at their computers) and more social, perhaps what you would call communal tables through the middle. Visited one of the sister stores in Montreal a few months back so knew that we were going to get good coffee. The service was outstanding, with the barista so friendly and accommodating with all the different questions we had.
We were given our recommendations of what coffees to have based on our preferences.
A two person chemex pourover was shared between my wife and I and cappuccinos and lattes by the rest of the group. All were phenomenal, so we'll prepared.
The pastries are delicious too and made a great breakfast.
Great space to come and have a coffee or work for the day off...
