Not bad, but not great either. We were hyped by the reviews left and the fact that they use St-Guillaume Cheese for their cheese curds which my mom loves!
The ambiance and place is nice, clean and inviting but the food… well the food was disappointing.
My sister and I ordered a 7” philly-steak sub and replaced our fries with a mini-poutine and my mom opted for the regular poutine. While the poutine was good it was cold when it got to us which surprised us thinking the name would have indicated it was their specialty. The “sub” was served on what looked like the jumbo sausage hot-dog buns with diced peppers, meat, onions and nacho cheese vs a baguette or sub-intended bread which left it very dry.
Drinks: While the prices are very reasonable, stay away from the wine as my mom ordered a glass of Astica and got less than the standard 5oz pour. (Considering its a 10.50$ bottle at the SAQ the volume poured was far from worth the price paid). The cocktails however were good! We tried the Pina Colada and the Framboisier.
Appetizers: We also ordered the mac and cheese wedges, and it seems kraft diner was used to make them instead of a homemade mac and cheese version. Don’t recommend this if you’re picturing the yummy pub style mac and Cheese.
Our waitress was nice which helped with the whole experience but I wouldn’t go back because...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Poutineville, and I must say it was a gastronomic delight! This restaurant truly lives up to its reputation as the best poutine place in all of Quebec, and I can confidently say that my taste buds have never been happier.
Poutineville takes the classic Quebecois dish and elevates it to new heights with their creative and mouthwatering combinations. We decided to venture beyond the traditional and opted for the Mexican Poutine, Vegetable & Pepper Poutine and the Mac & Cheese Wedgies. They also have wonderful beverages options.
The parking is little tough. If you are lucky enough then you can get your parking right outside the street ($2-$3 per hour) off the restaurant or else you will need to find in other streets and walk back to restaurant.
Apart from the exceptional food, the service at Poutineville was exemplary. The staff members were friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They took the time to explain the various poutine options and even offered recommendations based on our preferences. The restaurant itself had a warm and inviting ambiance, making it a perfect place to enjoy a satisfying meal with...
Read moreA wonderful, funky eatery chain with top-flight ingredients, great (amazing) poutine selections/inventions (including vegan options), fast, friendly informative service and a raft of eclectic local and more mainstream brews on tap and by the bottle - a really great place to relax, recharge, and refuel after a long day. Centrally located on the funky Rue St. Joseph (with tons of little shops, eateries and assorted fun places to check out) within easy walking distance of a number of hotels and Vieux Quebec, with nearby available street parking should you not be on foot - we popped in after a day of shopping and sightseeing, ordered the Montreal poutine (house fries, smoked meat, mushrooms, house sauce, Swiss cheese gratin, and topped with a breaded pickle), and we were hooked, visiting it again and again. If you like Poutine, good beer, a relaxed low key atmosphere, and good times, this place is...
