Chez Ashton — Restaurant in Quebec

Great staff and able to help us non-French speaking west coasters with minimal French. This was my first time trying Poutine as I love fries and hate to one up them for my health ;0). I am happy to say I do not like it although my husband begs to differ.

I am not a fan of the squeaky cheese nor of too much gravy on my fries - I will stick to good ole vinegar and ketchup! My husband on the other hand really enjoyed his and my son liked his roast beef sandwich!

I'm absolutely shocked that nobody talks about recommends the burgers from this chain. I went to the one in Old Quebec City and had a double cheeseburger and then had multiple at this location. Quelle déception, après quelques années sans visiter Ashton. Une galvaude, format bébé. Frites bien ordinaires, la sauce goûtait définitivement plus près de l’eau que d’une sauce à poutine. Vraiment mauvaise. Fromage: pas beaucoup, même pas normal. Ridicule. Et le pire, vraiment, qui me fait dire que je ne retournerai plus jamais au Ashton, était la pauvre substance sèche et sans goût qu’ils osent mettre sur la poutine. Au lieu de couvrir la presque totalité de la surface de la poutine, comme n’importe quelle autre place, c’était une espèce de rondelle d’environ 1 pouce d’épaisseur, dont la surface faisait, selon mon estimation, environ le 1/3 ou le 1/4 de la poutine. Une vraie joke. Et je répète, sec, sans gout comme la sauce. Totalement ridicule. Sauvez-vous en courant de cette place spécifique et, j’aurais tendance à dire, la chaîne en générale. Dommage.
