Restaurant L'Ostrea — Restaurant in Quebec

My partner and I were visiting from Ottawa and stopped here for a quick lunch and ended up spending over 2 hours here because the food was just incredible. We had the kindest, most inviting server, who was so extremely hospitable especially considering we embarassingly couldn't speak much French and he was so accommodating to us. I've never had salmon the way it was prepared here and the atmosphere of the restaurant was so cozy and warm, we really loved it. We are going to have to travel to Quebec again soon, just so we can eat here. The experience definitely ended our visit to Quebec on a high note. I'd highly recommend...

This is a small restaurant in a strip mall. The seating is so crowded that you have to negotiate with the other guests and sit back to back. With a lot of people in a small place, music and an open kitchen it's quite noisy. At some point the music was turned off which helped a little. The food was beautiful displayed but very salty. I had the swordfish. It was really nice with the black rice. I love the intimate atmosphere and dining experience of this restaurant. The menu is written on a whiteboard chisel. It's very classic. My sister had the Icelandic cod, which was also very tasty. The wine was very smooth and nice. Paired very well with the meal. The bread was nice, too.
