The food was okay, nothing really stood out. Typical dishes you get at any all you can eat sushi restaurant. WARNING: the service here is the slowest service Iâve ever seen in my life. I do not blame the kitchen and I do not blame the wait staff. MANAGEMENT needs to work on how this place is run. We got seated next to the kitchen so we were able to see everything. There is too much pressure put on the wait staff. They have to take the order sheets from the customers, punch in the orders, pick up food from the kitchen counter and the sushi counter. There was 2 guys serving then later on during our visit another girl was serving as well. The restaurant is not small, for an all you can eat you know customers will be ordering many dishes. There were 3 people in the kitchen and 4 people making the sushi, and only 3 servers! What do you think is going to happen? The guy working in the sushi counter kept yelling at the servers to hurry up because they had no space, management shouldâve helped them. Even though the servers were really backed up, they were very nice and every so often would ask if we needed anything. After putting in our first order, the first dish didnât hit our table until 30 mins later. I really hope the management sees the problem and hires more wait staff, I feel bad for the servers that...
Read moreSushi Sakura was highly recommended by staff at the hotel where we are staying so we though it worth a try We called in a takeout order, however their delivery guy wasn't available so we went back out for pick up, instead. The decor in the new restaurant is very fun and clean, modern and not at all like many strip mall sushi places I've been to. We took our order back to the hotel and were pleased to see a lot of food - a 12 hour drive makes you hungry.
Unfortunately, as we unpacked our order we realized that the dumplings and spring rolls we'd ordered were not in the bag. There was no way we were getting back in the car after spending the entire day in it, so we decided to cut our losses.
The sushi was good - not exceptional - but good. Unfortunately the wasabi lacked kick ( I could have used about 5 times as much of that), and for me that makes or breaks it. We both noted that the eel was incredibly fishy tasting and I found 3 sharp bones in mine. Big oops!
We did enjoy the rest of the sushi, it came with lots of pickled ginger and soy, and extra spicy mayo, as well. I think attention to detail might be something Sakura needs to examine, but they'e relatively new apparently, so hopefully these are just growing pains. They definitely...
Read moreStaff was smiling despite the staff have to do the table dance as the olace is so so tight I felt like a giant Ordering style: The old fashioned pen and paper with numbers for food is so old now that will cost a lot of food to be thrown out This place requires that you know every single item on the menu at the moment of order. The sushi place back home has a tablet so you can see the food prior to ordering it and for us we won't order raw fish... we just don't like it!!! Beers: Very limited selection to make the place looks more like an asian place (nothing wrong with that) 1 chinese beer, 1 Thai beer, 2 Japanese... this is your selection... asked the waitress what's the best? She pointed to the 2 most expensive ones which I liked price is a non issu but i tried one of the cheep beers beforenin Hamilton and was not good.. They should not limit your options as a customer cause even if I went to Japan I am sure I will find my...
