Restaurant Pizza Giffard Inc — Restaurant in Quebec

If I could rate this restaurant a zero star, I would have. I have never had such poor customer service in my entire life. It started with the person on the phone refusing to substitute mushrooms from onions on our pizza. So, not a big deal, I paid extra for onions and asked they not put mushrooms on my pizza. I was quoted a total of $48.00. Delivery person (friendly guy) arrived with a medium pizza for a total of $37. I advised him that it was the wrong size. He suggests I call the restaurant. I call the restaurant while the driver remains onsite. Girl on the phone argues with me telling me I ordered a medium pizza. I ask to speak to the manager. Here is where everything goes from bad to worst. Manager was automatically rude, confrontational and would not let me explain the situation. He kept repeating “ You listen to me. You listen to me”. I was able to get a few words him just explaining I needed a new pizza. He told me to stop yelling at him which was not the case. When I asked him what the restaurant was going to do for me his response was “ you know what I’m going to do for you, this….” And hung up. Driver wasn’t sure what to do so I told him to leave. Pizza was still with me. Managers calls me back shortly after the driver left and while swearing and yelling told me he was calling the police for theft for not having paid for the medium pizza. We had no intention of eating the pizza at this point. 20 mins later, police actually arrived at the door of our Airbnb. I proceeded to telling them the story (completely different story they had gotten from the manager). The officers were in disbelief that they had been called for this. They took the pizza back to the restaurant. I proceeded to going to get food for my 4 children at a nearby A&W. I have never experienced anything like this. I am hoping the owners are made aware of who is running their restaurant. Perhaps the managers needs to find a new career that doesn’t involve dealing...

We visited this establishment during our vacation in Quebec City. We went on a Tuesday night, around 7pm. The place was not very busy and we were able to get seated within 10 minutes for our party of 8.

Our server spoke perfect English, which was helpful since our French was terrible. She was friendly and patient with our tourist behaviors.

We ordered an XL supreme pizza (16") which was huge. Very thick slices and the crust was crispy without being greasy. Lots of cheese and toppings were delicious. We also ordered a lasagne and the savory flavors were well received by my youngest daughter (10 yrs). My oldest ordered a Caesar salad which she enjoyed. My niece got a hotdog which came on a butter toasted bread. She really liked it.

One word. WOW!!!! Waited close to an hour for take-out pizza. Glad I did too. Pizza was the best I ever tasted. Quebec pizza is the BEST. I tasted pizza all over the world, but pizza in Quebec is quite different. Cheese is the best, the pepperoni is generously layered in an overlapping fashion. Soooo tasty. You must try this place, decor is simple but your not here for the decor. The food speaks for itself in spades. A local favourite. Parking is limited and you'll probably park on the streets. Long waits for a table, but the staff is friendly and efficient. I had an hour to witness the operation while waiting for the takeout! A would say a must-try establishment. ...
