Ristorante La Vista — Restaurant in Quebec

Honestly, I'm thoroughly disappointed by the decline this restaurant has taken, especially considering the beauty of the space, and the lack of fine dining establishments in the surrounding area.

When they first opened, La Vista's food and service were unparalleled. While expensive, it was worth it for special occasions. On our last visit, the food was overcooked and under seasoned, and when mentioned to upper staffed, we were told that if we didn't like it, we shouldn't come back.

Between our first visit and our last, we had made an inquiry as to hosting our wedding on the premises. We were hopped around from person to person, until after 3 months of no response for a simple question, we were told "We have more important people to deal with than you", which definitely did put a sour taste in our mouths.

I would not recommend eating here, nor hosting any...

Pre COVID this used to be my favourite restaurant. I would travel 30 minutes out of my way just to eat their Friday buffet. The large wood beams and open space is always impressive.

Most recently we went back for dinner. The place was totally empty! Our waiter mentioned the head chef has changed. In hindsight we now know why the place was empty.

Kids no longer eat free! We were surprised as their website still mentions this. They should change this on their site.

The food quality has definitely gone down. The blackened salmon was tasteless and overcooked. Prime rib portion size was too small. Kids meals were nothing special. The dessert was the best part of the meal. Unfortunately I don’t have a pic of the cake as it was devoured too quickly.

I am truly disappointed in the service and food quality I received last week when I came for dinner with my husband. First, the restaurant was not busy at all so I cannot explain or find a reason why the service to receive drinks or food was so long. I waited at the door for over 10 minutes for finally someone to come greet us. After finally ordering our drinks, they were not good at all, it tasted like juice only and my husbands beer was flat. He ordered the prime rib and I ordered the chefs choice truffled gnocchi and both plates came out disappointing. The prime rib was over cooked and dry and the gnocchi were hard and the sauce was very salty. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waiter and he offered nothing but a free dessert only.
