On a Saturday night, the place was quite crowded and they had live music. Even with the live music, the volume was at an appropriate level and we didn't need to scream to talk at our table. The waiter seemed a bit grumpy but he was still patient and polite. The service was a bit slow but it might have been because they were quite busy. The portions were quite filling and large, which makes the pricing reasonable. Beside the filet mignon that was a bit more expensive at around 40$, the other plates were around 10 to 20$ each. The quality of the meat and the food in general was great. I especially liked the peppercorn sauce that complemented the food very well. A flavour that wasn't overwhelming and not too bland, it was just great. The service was once again not that great and the quality of the food was not as great as the first time I came to the restaurant. The food was however served very quickly.

Wow, the steak poutine I heard about was indeed amazing ! Nevermind the super hot small dark hair goddess at the takeout counter but wow that poutine was just the best we ever had. I was told about this place by friends at work and it is truely really really good. The portions are huge and although a bit pricy it is definitely worth the money. The restaurant is attached to The Playground casino on the Rez. Anyways make sure you go try this place out you won't regret it it is worth the trip. If you're lucky you'll get to see the small dark haired hottie at the takeout cash too. See the pictures to see the poutine I'm bragging about. The portion is very shareable or eat it alone if you are very hungry. They pile on the steak too...you must go try it NOW!!!!

1. Well very served, polite, super friendly and efficient staff 2. Food was delivered rapidly to our table and the entirety was to die for ! The 12 oz Rib eye Steak respectively cooked rare, tender and juicy, pepper sauce was the great match; fries were crispy and hot, a must! 3. The Cajun chicken with sautéed onions and red peppers with sides and tortillas were the best I’ve ever had! The spices were excellently chosen and I simply couldn’t get enough. 4. The decadent brownie with white chocolate crumbs, drizzled raspberry sauce and a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream, the perfect finishing touch to a beautiful and delicious experience! 5.To-go containers were offered, definitely taking some of these gems home to share 😍

I recently had the pleasure of dining at , Rail Coal Fire Bistro and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and impeccable service. The staff at Rail Coal Fire Bistro went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was nothing short of phenomenal.

Let's start with the service. The waitstaff was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. They were prompt in taking my order and made excellent recommendations from the menu. Throughout the meal, my glass was never empty, and they anticipated my needs without being intrusive. The attention to detail and genuine care for the customers truly stood out, making the service at Rail Coal Fire Bistro exceptional.

Moving on to the ambiance, I was instantly captivated by the restaurant's stylish and contemporary decor.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the food. The menu at Rail Coal Fire Bistro is a culinary masterpiece, offering a diverse range of dishes that cater to all tastes. I opted for their signature ribeye steak, and it was nothing short of perfection. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection, tender and juicy with a rich, smoky flavor that can only be achieved through the skilled art of coal grilling. Each bite was a heavenly experience, and the accompanying sides were equally delicious and beautifully presented.

Furthermore, the attention to quality ingredients was evident in every dish. From the vibrant seasonal vegetables, each component was carefully selected and prepared to enhance the flavours. The menu also featured a selection of innovative cocktails.

In conclusion, Rail Coal Fire Bistro is a gem among restaurants. The service provided was exceptional, with attentive and knowledgeable staff who made every effort to ensure a memorable dining experience. The ambiance was stylish, yet inviting, providing the perfect setting for an enjoyable evening. And, of course, the food was truly phenomenal—each dish prepared to perfection, showcasing the talent and passion of the culinary team.

So the first thing that you should know before you go is that this is a restaurant connected to a poker casino. What that means for the casual diner is that you will realize that you're sitting in a room that has no windows and it's quite dark overall. I won't go into the reasons why they do this but it is something that they do. The food itself that I had there namely breakfasts are a pretty good value, especially in light of the fact that there are no taxes added on to the top of price of your meal. Despite being a good value I wouldn't call the breakfast extraordinary in any way. The sausages they serve aren't particularly tasty. I like my eggs scrambled but they don't know how to do that there, they just pour eggs on to the griddle and wait til it's cooked and then chop it up with the side of their spatula resulting in rather rubbery unpleasant to eat eggs. Having gone to cooking school I assure you that these are not scrambled eggs if I had produced those during my course I would have been failed for them. They should be light and fluffy without any sign of browning. I don't know if they're home fries are actually homemade or not I'm not particular about them they're perhaps a little too crispy more like a tater tot. They also revamped the menu which used to be more extensive, which I generally don't disagree with, but I think that they may have removed too many items. But I still think there's enough choice for most people. The restaurant really is designed more for the patrons of the poker palace then the general public. Personally next time my wife suggests The Rail I think I'm going to bow out. One of the best breakfasts you can have in Montreal is a LBP in NDG, if The Rail can figure out how to produce something similar I might go back. As for their other meals I'm going to go out on a limb and say probably some what similar good value middle of the road food that isn't anything to...

I recently visited Playground Restaurant, and I must say, I had an amazing experience! From start to finish, the service was exceptional, going above and beyond my expectations.

The employees at the restaurant were attentive and paid great attention to detail, making sure all of my special requests were met to perfection. The chef prepared delightful and high-quality meals that left me thoroughly impressed.

I had my heart set on trying the Red Velvet Jar cake, but unfortunately, they had run out at the time. However, the manager stepped in and offered me another delicious dessert, and even gifted me the Red Velvet Jar on its own! It was a thoughtful gesture that made my day.

But the surprises didn't end there. After finishing my meal, I realized I had forgotten the jar and had to come back for it. To my delight, not only did they give me the jar with a freshly made Red Velvet cake, but they also included a cup with the Playground logo! This personalized touch was such a wonderful addition to my cup collection from various places I've visited.

I must highlight the outstanding service provided by Manager Jean (if I am remembering the name correctly) and our server, who was a super pleasant and friendly gentleman. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was memorable.

Thank you, Playground Restaurant, for such excellent service and the personal touch that sets you apart. I will undoubtedly be returning and recommending your restaurant to everyone I know. Keep up the...
