Valentine’s Day Made reservations for the Marsh. Drove from out of town. There were no reso under our name . Sent to the Mill . Waited awhile to get a table . Waited 15 mins for a drink . Ordered steak frites for appetizer. There was 10 fries. If that . In a dish about the size of a gravy bowl . All raw. Limp and cold . The parm cheese was just all over the bottom . Not on fries at all .cane with a side of weird green sauce . That tasted awful and cold. Was I to put it on the fries ?! The steak ?! Just yuck . With a side of steak so chewy . I chewed for 2 mins. put it back on the plate . You couldn’t even tell which piece was chewed . After an hour I was told . No stuffed chicken. Ok. Guess I’ll have duck .. another 40 mins later . No duck . I didn’t end up eating anything . I ended up sharing my husbands salmon . Which was over cooked and cold . With a side of cold shrimp . 4 for 28$ !! The entire meal was awful . We had no alcohol . They charged full price for everything . From start to finish our meal took 2.5 hours. There were patrons all around us not happy with their meals at all…the couple decide us had wilted skimpy lettuce in their salad . The couple had bison and steak frittes also . Their bison was so overcooked . It was awful . They had ordered chicken as well and were later told no That what an absolute cluster . Those poor waitresses . Not a great...

We’ve always loved The Mill — the service, food, and atmosphere are consistently excellent. That said, I feel it's important to share feedback from a recent visit that left my family hesitant to return.

We ordered the smoked ribeye special at $65. About 15 minutes later, our server let us know they had run out of ribeye and would be substituting striploin instead. We were fine with the switch — things happen — but were surprised that the price remained unchanged at $65.

While we generally find The Mill to be fairly priced, charging the same amount for a different, less premium cut just didn’t sit right. It was disappointing, and I do think it’s worth mentioning. A quick adjustment or even an acknowledgment of the price difference would’ve made a big difference.

**The Mill totally made this right, ...

My husband and I are visiting from out of town and this was nearby.

The food is not good. In another review response the owner insists " food is made from scratch" and they either don't know what that means or are flat out lying.

This means that you peel and cut your own potatoes, you mince your own meat or at the VERY LEAST don't use frozen patties, you cut and wash all of your vegetables instead of using anything prepackaged, your desserts aren't coming frozen from a box, basically the word 'frozen' should not exist in your restaurant unless you're talking about ice, your sauces and dressings are whisked by hand and not delivered in big jugs.

Just the fact that they try to make you think their food is made from scratch to justify their prices is insane and an insult to...

Interesting view off the deck in the summer, not a big sweeping natural Vista but a good spot to sit and people watch, probably best in town. If you want a beer outside this is the place for it. Food is good, a touch pricy, and sometimes they can miss a bit in trying to do something fancy and modern instead of tried and tested. Probably one of the more well attended modern places to eat in Quesnel that is likely to have something new to try Service is slow at dinner. Like really slow. Forgotten items like utensils or water to accompany meals. Understaffed or hard to retain staff, idk. There are usually some pretty big tables seated at dinner taking up attention. Good sports tv screens and variety of stuff on.

We've lived here for 3 years now and hadn't heard of this place (we like our take-out/delivery), but went here for dinner on the advice of a friend. It was looking like a mistake at first, as the parking lot was pitch black (7pm), but there was lighting on when we left, so maybe they have it on a timer and it's not set up properly for winter yet? When we were inside though it is very cozy and inviting. The food was very good as well. We went with the bison burgers and my wife had the stacker sandwich, but there were several choices that sounded like good, hearty fare. The service was friendly and attentive, and the place was fairly busy but not noisy at all. Would not hesitate to recommend

The last couple of meals I have had here have been excellent. One was a special lamb burger with pickled beets and goat cheese. It was great. The other was a Mix Grill with steak, prawns, duck sausage, roasted veg and rice. The steak was a perfect medium rare, sausage was moist and juicy without being underdone, roasted veg had just the right amount of char and the asparagus was very nicely al-dente. I am often a little hesitant to order steak in a pub but this was excellent. I see some complaints about pricing but the prices are in line with anywhere else I have been in the last year and the quality above a lot of other places.
