The Cardinal — Restaurant in Quinte West

The food is amazing but the female server was atrocious. One of us (we were a party of 6) did not get her food until everyone else was done. When the server came over with the fries only (really, you couldn't serve the fries at the same time the other customer got hers?) She told the server to take it back. The server started to argue. Then it was said again: take the food back, I don't want it anymore. Just go. The server proceded to tell her that she should watch how she spoke to the server. Like, what???? The manager/owner was apologetic but the damage was done. The server even argued throughout the conversation with the manager. She had major attitude and this business won't last as long as she works there. We won't be back!

And the reply is not accurate. It was not a small inconvenience. One person didn't get food at all. That is a big inconvenience to me. The fact that this server had such a big attitude about this is not right. And you...

What a fantastic evening we had at The Cardinal. Kevin Weaver graced the stage and did an amazing John Prine tribute performance. Our waitress was terrific!! We ordered nachos and Pino spritzers to wash them down. The spritzers weren’t on the menu but our waitress got them for us and they were perfect. The Cardinal is an intimate venue to enjoy live music and you have to go here. Washrooms we’re clean and well kept. Bravo Cardinal and bravo Kevin Weaver! We’ll be back for sure! I’d suggest perhaps your food and drink menus need to be online. I couldn’t find them anywhere. We were told by the waitress you’re adding a sangria to your menu. The addition of a white and a red sangria would be great…also perhaps add the spritzers in there too! Also, you may want to consider adding some creative non-alcoholic mixed drinks...

Well this was the first and last time that we’ll be supporting this establishment unless the service changes. The food and atmosphere was great but the service was unremarkable, a party of six were served individually and one person in the party didn’t receive their food until everybody else was finished eating. Then the server started having attitude with us and claiming that we were raising our voices (which we never did) until she did, she didn’t come back to see if there was anything else we required and was avoiding eye contact with us until she brought the bill.
