Headed into Red Deer for a Chinese late lunch after some antique shopping. We ordered four items, Szechuan beef, lemon chicken, spicy @ salty chicken and Singapore rice noodles with a side bowl of steamed rice and a pot of green tea. For the total price of $62.00, this is indeed great value with good portions for 4 people, wow! The beef was tender with plenty of green peppers and onion slices that were properly cooked. The dish was dry with no sauce which was abit different. The lemon chicken was alittle doughy as it needed to be fried alittle bit longer but the amount of chicken inside the dough was very good. The lemon sauce was ok. The rice noodles had good curry heat. The spicy chicken had very good size chicken chunks but really was not salty or spicy enough. Good quality dishes but some needed abit more flavour from the spices, for our preferences. Very good value for the food, excellent service, good decor and a well kept restaurant, clean and uncluttered. Metered parking is in front and free during the weekends. The meal was very good but needed that extra kick in...
Read moreANOTHER UPDATE! Honestly the best Chinese takeout that I've found in Red Deer. Staff is friendly and attentive, food is always hot and tasty, and prices are definitely fair!
I've (and my family/friends/etc) never had a SINGLE complaint with the food or service here, dine-in or take-out, and whole heartedly recommend that you check them out.
I find it odd that one of the recent poor reviews says it was empty, but also complains that it was very noisy..? Seems shady to me.
UPDATE! The Thai Noodle Soup is back! I've been grabbing lunch here off and on lately, and saw that the Thai noodle soup was back on the menu! Love it! Just as good as I remember. :)
Old Review:
Once upon a time, this was The Noodle House. I'm sad that the Thai noodle soup is no longer around, but the food is just as good as you and I remember.
We love getting takeout from here, always so tasty. Fast service, great quality, big portions. This is my family's "go-to" for...
Read moreWorst Chinese food we have ever had! We ordered chicken fried rice, chicken chow mein, ginger beef, beef & broccoli, deep fried shrimp and egg rolls. The ginger beef was an odd color and tasted like pure vinegar, the chicken chow mein tasted weird and extreme bean sprout smell and earthy taste, the rice had no flavor whatsoever not even a rice taste, the deep fried shrimp was mainly batter and tiny shrimp, the beef and broccoli tasted like just pure garlic and rubbery tough beef and well the egg rolls were the largest I have ever seen over 2 inches tall, the batter was an inch thick and so hard I couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife and when I finally got it cut there was at most a tablespoon of filling in it, tasted terrible too. I was extremely disappointed as this was my birthday dinner and the entire meal of over $80 was thrown in the garbage. Why it has such good reviews is beyond my understanding. Each to their own opinions I guess but to me it was probably the worst I...
