EDIT After reading my previous review, the Owner reached out to me and invited me to come back and rectify our experience. My family and I went back for a meal and ordered something different and enjoyed our meals and had a very pleasant evening with wonderful service. I was impressed with the Owner for going above and beyond to make it up to us. Thank you!
So I'm not one to usually leave a review, but this time I felt I had to as there were many things that were disappointing. We went for supper at One Eleven this evening (Saturday), after being a few years ago and remembering the food being very enjoyable. This time, we called to make a reservation at 6pm and they were able to accommodate us right away (7 adults, 2 kids) and it wasn't very busy. Firstly, it may seem strange to complain about an over - friendly waitress, but it felt very forced, fake and not genuine. I don't mean to sound nasty, but it's just how she came across. Secondly, once we had ordered our meals we waited for ONE HOUR for our food to arrive. All of us ordered the beef ribs or cesar salad. In the meantime, the table who ordered immediately before us had been served, finished their meals, paid and left. Third disappointment were the meals; I ordered a cesar salad and my hubby ordered the beef ribs (see photos). I couldn't believe it took them an hour to serve a de-constructed cesar salad (6 whole lettuce leaves for $16, really!?) - not what you'd expect to get in a pricey restaurant and comes across as lazy, in my opinion. My hubby's meal wasn't much better. He was served two ribs, one was literally 90% fat, and the other had so little meat on it that he was left hungry afterward. After waiting one hour for our food to arrive we had finished it within 10 minutes because the portion sizes were rather small. Our waitress offered us one free piece of cake as it was a "special occasion" and for the wait, and we would have ordered dessert, but we had waited for so long that we didn't want to prolong the evening any longer as our kids were exhausted from having to sit and wait for so long, and we weren't about to fight over one piece of sticky toffee pudding cake. She did end up giving us the complimentary cake in a to-go box, but everyone who tried it said they didn't like it. Everything seemed to take a long time, including the bills, and the food (considering how pricey) was a major disappointment unfortunately. One other thing to mention is that I found the some of the waitresses dresses to be so extremely short that it was barely covering their backsides and I thought that was inappropriate for a...
Read moreMy husband & I planned an Annual Christmas party for our Business well in advance requesting and receiving confirmation several times that our party of 16 could be accommodated in the upstairs mezzanine enabling us to have a private setting. One week prior to our event I received a phone call that the restaurant could no longer accommodate this as they had a group of 20 people that they needed to seat beside us, I complained bitterly as a few years ago we got the same excuse and cancelled at that time. The owner then called me and explained that his dilemma was that this party had booked even before our booking which begs the question why was our booking made in the first place and consequent confirmations given if it was not a reality. The owner then guaranteed that our private session could be managed as he would ask the other party to come at 4.30 pm and be finished up by 6.30pm when our party would arrive. Our party arrived to find the table of 20 having just been served appetizers, we were seated in the lounge for cocktails and told we could be seated upstairs at a separate table but with the other group around 30. minutes later, but nearly an hour later we were asked to move from the lounge as the table we were occupying was also booked, we were then seated next to the large group in a space way too small for almost 40 people and were continually told that the group was leaving. We ordered appetizers for our group which came out at 8.30pm and Entrees came at 9.40 pm, the group didn't leave till 9pm, which left me as the Groups' host on the edge of my seat not able to relax and enjoy my dinner and we were also unable due to the lack of privacy to thank our employees for all their hard work throughout the year despite the early preparation and organization on our part to do so.
The owner was present that evening and did very little to make our evening special, It is my impression that he intentionally overbooked the space to maximize his profits irregardless of customer satisfaction. I get that it is a business and the evenings takings are important but when that outweighs customer service the business always loses.
I will say that our waiters Christopher & Teagen did a marvelous job in the difficult circumstances so hat's off to them. To the owner I would say his priorities need to be re evaluated and we will not be returning.

Read moreWe dined at One Eleven Grill on our last evening in Red Deer on a Saturday night and it was a wonderful experience! We did make an online reservation a few hours before and glad that we did. The restaurant was busy with a larger wedding party and other regular customers.
We were seated in a booth and our server Sierra, stopped by to welcome us within a few minutes of us being seated. She was very pleasant throughout the evening and was able to answer any questions we had about the menu and portion sizes.
We ordered a Hawktail Cervesa draft and a Passionate Pear Punch for our beverages. They were both brought out within 10 minutes and both were delicious!
My hubby ordered the full rack of ribs and I ordered the Mini Beef Wellington and the risotto of the day which was Onion.
This is why I went down 1 star is because our food took a long time to come out. It was over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. But when our food did arrive, it was beautifully served and everything tasted amazing!
My "mini" beef wellingtons were a big portion! It was 2 - 2.5 ounce servings. The pastry crust was so light and fluffy, the meat was cooked perfectly and the garlic aioli and au jus that came with it were delicious! My onion risotto was creamy and it tasted like french onion soup, but taken to the next level! Everything was served hot and was so decadent!
My husbands ribs came with coleslaw, baked beans, veggies and fries. The coleslaw was good, it could have used just a bit more acid to the flavor. The baked beans.....omg....absolutely amazing! So tasty and a great flavor! He really enjoyed his ribs and they had a lot of sauce on them as well.
We both really enjoyed our meals at One Eleven and just wish the food had come out a little sooner. We did notice that the lights above the tables almost made us feel like we were being interrogated. LOL! They were pretty bright and if they were tilted like 5 degrees or something, or a dimmer bulb, that would have been a bit better. The music was a bit loud for dinner service and made it feel more like a casual pub/dining experience, but the ambiance and decor is more on the elegant, romantic side. Even if the music was turned down just a tad, it would have been a better.
Overall, we would definitely dine at One Eleven again. We really enjoyed our drinks, food and our server was friendly...
