Sushi Ta Ke — Restaurant in Red Deer

I took my girlfriend in for sushi, she loves this place for takeout. We decided to sit in the restaurant for dinner.

The food was great! But the Service was very bad. I believe i overheard the server say shes only been working for 5months or so. Clearly she has no prior experience.

She did fine with taking our drink and food orders. She came over to quite literally drop off our gyoza and nigiri sushi. She ran away immediately, not realizing she gave us the wrong sushi order. I tried flagging her down, the couple next to us recognized it was their order.. so we were all trying to flag her down, but she wasn't even paying attention to our side of the restaurant. The couple just took their order, and not too long after she came by with the other half of our order that was correct this time.. and immediately ran away again! I noticed we had no plates, so tried flagging her down again to also be ignored.. ended up having to pass the bowl of noodles back and forth for us to share. We finally got to ask for plates when she brought food for the couple next to us.. never got any kind of apology or acknowledgement that she had made any kind of mistakes.. I realize that this is inexperience. Hopefully management can bring proper serving practices to...

Food: The quality is good! I had the sashimi and yam tempura. The fish wasn't fishy and has a nice texture. The yam tempura was perfectly cooked. My friend had their Bento box and she was racing about it as well. As for the food selection, it had more than enough to give you a selection of what to get in a typical sushi place without it being overwhelming.

Interior: It has a smaller space compared to the other sushi restaurant nearby. However, it doesn't feel cramped and makes a bit more intimate setting instead of a food hall.

Service: They were fast and friendly. It was my first time there and my server was very helpful and patient with my indecisiveness (there was a lot of good food in the menu).

Location: It's in a good place since it's close to the mall and hotel. There's also lots of parking so it isn't a pain to get to the restaurant.

Had a great late lunch with my grandkiddo. The food was very good. I had the Gome Ae salad, A tokoyaki, and a Volcano sushi roll. Very fresh. I did find the Chipotle mayo a bit too spicy for me, and I do like some heat, so I whimped out and ate mostly the filling as the rice was covered in sauce. The restaurant itself is cozy. Not a big place at all but the chair i sat on was a bit wobbly and creaked when I sat down. It is older furniture but I need to lose weight so that could have been the problem. The staff are amazing. Very friendly, lots of smiles. The food came fast and with good service. Overall, it does need some new chairs, but I recommend the place. Great assortment of everything when it comes to sushi. Just missing the monkey...
