I really enjoyed the food here. The quality was terrific. First of all, my mom ordered the dine out menu and we kind of shared her Brussel Sprouts appetizer.. now BELIEVE ME when I say these were the BEST Brussel sprouts I’ve ever eaten in no entire life. If I could have Brussel sprouts like this every day I would. They were roasted and a little crispy and drizzled in just the perfect amount of oil. Topped with bacon bits and fresh grated Parmesan cheese.. my mouth is literally watering just thinking about it. I’m sad to see it isn’t on their regular menu as it was just soooo tasty.. my boyfriend, on the other hand, ordered the Buffalo chicken wrap. Now I had a bite and it wasn’t anything spectacular but it wasn’t horrible either.. the poutine though was great!! The fries were so crispy and the gravy was nice and savoury. A well executed comfort food for sure. Now I had the Smoked salmon Benny and was pleased to see that the poached egg was nice and runny in the middle, as it should be. Many restaurants can’t seem to get this right so that was a positive note. My dish was good but as far as smoked salmon bennies go, de Dutch still has msg heart. Nonetheless still a solid dish. Bonus points to the Flying Beaver for the amazing view. We sat on the outdoor patio area right on the corner window next to wear the airplanes dock and we got to see a plane take off so that was a nice bit of entertainment. I would definitely come back again some time and I think everyone should try it at least once. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention... the service was great. The guy who had our table was super friendly and attentive. Great overall experience!

Walked up on a Saturday night around 630pm. No line and restaurant 2/3 full. Restaurant spaces our and set up for covid. No issues or concerns about safety. Free parking. Pro tip there is a bigger lot across the street which is free for the restaurant as well. The place looks like a cozy pub you might find on Gabriela Island. Its decorated with airplane decor as its near the airport. It has TV and u can watch sports as well. Staff was attentive and prompt wearing masks. They have a great happy hour which we missed but would go back to try. Appy was an Asian style calamari. It was excellent. Shared by 2 people and it was plenty. Dinner we chose beef dip and blackened chicken. The beef dip was delicious and i would order again. Excellent portion size, ton of au jus, horseradish mayo. The blackened chicken was not what I expected. It was cooked well but I felt the flavors were odd. Blackend chicken with bbq sauce, topped with fresh salsa. The salsa alone was good, the chicken was cooked well, but all I could taste was the BBQ sauce. Personally get rid if the BBQ sauce and the dish would be better. Desert was warm toffee pudding. What can I say? I don't have a sweet tooth but this was amazing. Try it. Drinks It is a bar. We didn't drink but it looked well stocked with beers, cocktails, and wine. Overall If the app gave half stars I would give 4.2. Point lost for the chicken dish only.

If it weren't for the staff, this place would get a one-star review. Let me start by saying the hostess and wait staff gals that work here are fantastic and really try to accommodate everybody considering this is a very busy place.I was impressed with their patience and ability to handle a big crowd. You get a collection of local people, plus airline staff and anybody that is in between or delayed flights. and you need to know before going that this is a pub first and food second. while they have done the Vancouver thing and tried to accommodate people with special food needs, don't expect miracles. Whomever did the menus was very smart because it doesn't say gluten free on a lot of the items, it says Gluten Aware. Although I fail to understand how a full wheat croissant is gluten aware.... But guess it's all in the eye of the beholder. So wait staff great. The food and cleanliness on the other hand was absolutely brutal. In the appetizer section everything is hot so how would one expect to get served PAN SEARED AHI TUNA with a sesame seed crust cold? Or rather, frozen and freshly thawed with water still on the plate. it was so unappetizing that I didn't even try it. add to the fact that I had to pull out at 2 sets of knives and forks before getting clean ones. Yuck. When lovely Jillian came by, she actually told me she had never heard of pan seared ahi being served hot. Frankly I've never heard of it being served frozen. But that's no excuse for how it came out of the kitchen. Never mind being frost bit, it was served with sliced avocados that were black and bruised. That and the unusual decision to use extra large sesame seeds without crushing them and leave them whole. The entire dish was a bit of an overpriced ****show and it went back to the kitchen. Because I was very short on time between flights, I ended up ordering the calamari. It was a solid 5/10. Not great not bad , just food when you are starving and don't have anywhere else as an option. My waitress Gillian, on the other hand was fantastic. I really did appreciate her going the extra mile with my new challenges at trying to eat and drink gluten free. I couldn't decide what I wanted so she brought me two samples of Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio. It took the bar stuff over 10 minutes to actually get that sorted out and then it came with what would amount to one teaspoon of liquid in each glass. But it does give you a sample and let you know that you probably don't want that wine anyway. Instead I went with the gluten-free beer. And it was fine except strangely served. I felt like I was at some sort of nightclub in the 1980s. I got a frosted mug and a furry rimmed unopened can of beer served at the table. And let me reiterate - the inside of the can where you pour the beer from was dirty, even after wiping it was a towel and rinsing water in it, I couldn't get the dirt out of the well. It should never have gone to the table like that. And again this is a bar staff issue, not wait staff. OR maybe it's my issue for actually having expectations in a place that is that busy and obviously catering to an in-and-out pub clientele. This is not a place you go to for food first. Anyhow, would I go there again for a drinks only? Probably. It's a nice environment with ample seating for any person because they have warm and cool areas plus and outside lounge area with a beautiful view of the river where the float planes are landing. Would I eat there again? Absolutely not.

Our first time at flying beaver, we came for the Vancouver Dine Out Festival and overall it’s not the worst but it’s also not great. The place was fairly packed and the wait time for a table was no more than 10 minutes. For an appetizer I had the New English clam chowder. The soup was alittle watery and tasted sweeter than expected. Potatoes were very roughly chopped which left me with awkward sized chunks in every bite. My Entree was a medium rare sirloin steak, I was pleased that it was actually medium rare where ever I cut. The dark gravy was mediocre, eventually as I got to the last couple bites I found it had become too salty for my taste. However, I enjoyed the fried onions as it rounded off all the flavours nicely. The best way to describe the mini donuts is lack lustre. They seemed excessively greasy and the pool of chocolate sauce and what I can assume was crème anaglaise was not visually appealing let alone something worth suggesting. The consensus of my party was that it was a failed attempt at a churro. I know this review hasn’t been the most positive but I’d like to highlight our server Natalie, who was an absolutely excellent. She had the right amount of check ins and conversation. I will be back again to try some of their regular menu items as they don’t seem like a bad place to eat, it was just a miss for this specific menu.

Nice place for small or large gathering with ample parking across the restaurant. The restaurant shares the same location as Harbour Air. It is located right by the water, you get a lovely water view & float planes flying in & out. They have special of the day in the evening. We came for the Dine Our Vancouver event. For $25 , 3 course meal ain't bad. We chose seafood chowder, prawn with Caesar salad, & crab cakes. I like the crab cakes, nicely done with a salad dressing with arugula salad & diced mango. Main course we chose the ribs, prawn linguine & blackened chicken. I liked the prawn linguine, it was season in a light cream sauce with artichoke pieces, roasted pine nuts, sun-dried tomatoes in the pasta. Prawns were fresh, tasty & not over cooked. Ribs came with scalloped potatoes which wasn't that well done, it was soggy. Blackened chicken came with mashed potatoes & yummy green beans. Dessert was brownie ala mode. The brownies were a tad salty but you eat it with the whipped cream & ice cream then it taste good. Nice place with a view... the pub is remote & sort of off the beaten path... locals & airport staff are familiar with the pub, it tends to get pretty crowded...
