We came here today after hearing about a new halal noodle house on halal in Vancouver facebook group, and our overall experience was not the best. When we came to the front to order, the lady at the counter wasn't very friendly, she seemed like she was annoyed by us asking questions about the menu, she was very curt and her face visibly looked annoyed. We asked to order the dumplings but they were sold out so we opted for the spicy shredded chicken instead, along with the beef noodle with bbq skewers. She gave us the chredded chicken right away so we tried it while waiting for the noodles and the chicken had a weird taste, the flavor itself wasn't bad, it was the chicken itself. When our noodles came we told them about the chicken, and the lady told what we assumed was the manager, who came out and was only speaking to her in Chinese, he didn't address us or apologize about the food, he looked offended. We said we didn't want it and so she took it away but didn't offer a refund or anything. The noodles dish was okay, the broth was really nice but there was way too much noodles compared to broth and a few chunks of beef. The skewers had a nice flavor but they were really dry.
Overall, we were really excited about this place but left disappointed and feeling like we were not valued as customers. Usually restaurants will try to rectify situations like that by offering a new dish or refunding thay specific dish or even a discount, but it felt like the staff didn't care bc they already got our money. We also asked for a Togo container and the lady said it was 55 cents... that was upsetting because we didn't even get a refund on the chicken dish we didn't eat, we brought that up and then they said okay its fine.. They should let you pay after you eat because their machine asks for tips, I'm not going to tip you before I get my food...
Read moreI’ve been looking for a good Lanzhou beef noodle place for a while, and I’ve been disappointed frequently. Places with a good variety and texture of noodles have broths that are too thin/bland, or too rich and one can’t drink too much as it’ll be too overpowering after several spoons.
Trying the beef noodles here however, the broth is on point; delicious, rich, and I can comfortably enjoy drinking the entire bowl. There are also several sizes and thicknesses of noodles, and having the flat noodles, I really enjoyed the texture and chew. On broth and noodles, as well as quantity of noodles, I would say 5 stars for sure!
However, the noodle itself doesn’t come with slices of beef, but small cubes. It’s not a significant portion of meat on top of the noodles, and the meat itself is just okay. The side dishes are nice, though the sliced meat on the side is a bit dry and tough.
The restaurant also has a bit of a casual feel, if that matters; you go up to the counter and pay first, then they place your side dishes on a cafeteria tray that you bring to your table while waiting for them to bring the noodles.
All that being said, I would definitely come again, as I said before, the broth and noodle quality and quantity are excellent. If there were a higher quantity and quality of beef on top of the noodles, I would say it would be perfect for me at that point. But it’s definitely good enough that I would recommend coming here to try, and I will be coming back...
Read moreWe ordered the set meal for two with thin noodles at Quds Halal Noodle House and were pleasantly surprised by how satisfying everything was! The noodles were perfectly cooked — thin, smooth, and had a nice chew to them. The flavor of the broth was rich and comforting, not overly salty, and packed with savory depth.
What made it even better was the side dish platter that came with the meal. It had a nice variety of cold appetizers, including some pickled vegetables and marinated tofu, which complemented the hot noodles really well. The presentation was thoughtful and portion sizes were generous.
The restaurant itself is clean and well-organized. The menu is easy to understand with helpful pictures, and the staff were polite and efficient. Service was quick, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food even though it was lunchtime.
One small suggestion: it would be even more flavorful if they added a bit more fresh cilantro and green onion — we love that extra herbal kick!
We really enjoyed the overall atmosphere — it felt casual, relaxed, and family-friendly. It’s the kind of place you’d happily come back to on a cold day for a warm bowl of noodles....
