Gyubee Japanese Grill Location: Ackroyd Plaza 8100 Ackroyd Rd #50, Richmond, BC V6X 3K2 Gyubee Japanese Grill is a popular destination for all-you-can-eat Japanese barbecue in Richmond, offering a well-curated selection of premium meats and seafood. With its inviting atmosphere and attentive service, it has become a go-to spot for those craving a high-quality grilling experience. Note: Due to the restaurant’s popularity, especially during dinner hours, reservations are highly recommended to avoid long wait times. We were fortunate to secure a table upon arrival, but availability can be limited. Service: 10/10 Service at Gyubee was exemplary. Our waitress, Tracy, provided a warm welcome and detailed explanation of the menu, ensuring we had a seamless dining experience. Her attentiveness and professionalism stood out, making sure our meal was enjoyable from start to finish. Food: 8/10 The all-you-can-eat menu offers a variety of meats, each sliced thinly for optimal grilling. Highlights included: • Ribeye Steak – Highly recommended, rich and tender with excellent marbling. • Prime Kalbi – Juicy and flavorful, a must-try. • Miso Marinated Steak – Deep umami flavor with a touch of sweetness. • Sweet Soy Beef Brisket – Balanced sweetness and savory depth. • Miso Beef Brisket – Bolder in flavor, perfect for those who enjoy robust seasoning. • Beef Tongue – Thinly sliced and best with a squeeze of lemon. • Garlic Brisket – Highly recommended, infused with aromatic garlic seasoning. • Pork Belly – A classic choice, fatty and flavorful. For seafood, the options were limited but fresh. We ordered shrimp and squid, both of which grilled well and retained their natural sweetness. Additional dishes: • Garlic Chicken Wings (8/10) – Crispy and well-seasoned, a solid choice. • Takoyaki (8/10) – Enjoyable but lacked a complementary sauce to enhance the flavor. • Bibimbap (8/10) – Well-balanced flavors and a great side to accompany the grilled meats. Ambiance: 8/10 The restaurant offers a modern and spacious interior with a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. Tables are well-spaced, and cleanliness is well-maintained, making for a comfortable dining experience. Price & Value: The pricing is reasonable for an all-you-can-eat experience. While portion sizes for vegetables and noodle soups are relatively small, diners can reorder within the two-hour dining limit to fully enjoy the meal. Verdict: Gyubee Japanese Grill is easily one of Richmond’s top choices for all-you-can-eat Japanese barbecue. The meats are well-seasoned, service is outstanding, and the overall experience is highly satisfying. While the seafood selection is somewhat limited, the quality and execution of the dishes make it a worthwhile visit. Highly recommended, but be sure to call ahead for reservations—securing a table during peak hours can be challenging

I had an amazing dining experience at Gyubee Japanese Grill in Richmond, British Columbia, and I just had to share how fantastic this place is! One of the standout features is their modern grill technology, which effectively absorbs most, if not all, of the smoke from barbequing. This means you leave the restaurant smelling fresh and clean — a huge plus compared to other places where you might walk out smelling like you’ve been at a smoky barbecue! The service was equally impressive, thanks to THOMAS. He was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making our experience memorable. Thomas was right there when we needed him, often refilling our glasses of water before they even ran out, ensuring we never felt neglected. His friendly and professional demeanor truly enhanced our visit. As for the food, Gyubee offers a fantastic selection of high-quality, fresh meats, seafood, and vegetables. You can taste the difference in everything — you can tell their meats are carefully sourced and prepared to perfection. I highly recommend trying their beef orders — they’re definitely worth the price, especially since it’s all-you-can-eat for around $50 per person. The beef is tender, flavorful, and cooked exactly to your liking, making it a great value for the money. Their house specials are also a must-try, showcasing the chef’s expertise and offering unique flavors that keep customers coming back for more. It’s no wonder Gyubee is highly rated and consistently busy with happy diners. I wholeheartedly recommend Gyubee Japanese Grill to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. Whether you're a meat lover or just want a fun, interactive meal, this place delivers on all fronts — excellent service, innovative grill technology, and superb food. A true gem in Richmond!

I was initially planning to visit Jingtan Grill more often, but unsure about securing seats this time, I decided to try Gyubee for the first time—and it did not disappoint! This eat-all-you-can spot offers high-quality meats that are well worth the visit.

The prime kalbi and steak were my personal favorites, while my wife absolutely loved the crème brûlée, clams, and salmon. My teens couldn’t get enough of the Japanese sausage, sweet potato fries, and kalbi with miso sauce. Honestly, all the ingredients were fresh, and trying everything collectively made the experience truly delicious. Not a single dish fell short.

Service deserves a special mention. You get 1 hour and 45 minutes to enjoy your meal, and Cathy, our server, was hands down the best I’ve encountered in Vancouver for an eat-all-you-can setup. Order and you get what you need in no longer than 3 minutes. She was incredibly attentive, quick, and thoughtful, especially with my dietary restrictions, which she communicated seamlessly with the kitchen. Cathy even recommended dishes that sparked my curiosity and ended up being new favourites. I appreciate that she cared about the urgency of placing our order immediately as I was undecided and our time was ticking. That only means she cared.

The ambiance is modern Japanese zen—clean, calm, and inviting. The staff collectively made the experience pleasant and smooth. Plus, parking is free, which is always a bonus.

As for price, this is an excellent deal considering the quality of the food. To enjoy the same dishes at a fine dining restaurant would easily cost double. Gyubee is a great balance of quality and value, making it highly recommendable for anyone looking to indulge. I will definitely come back and tell my friends to...
